Yes.
Zasne later had lunch with Arnold, and asked him why he urged him to compete despite his injury.
"C'mon, Frank," Arnold said. "It's competition-there are no friendships when there is competition."
The words qwere something to that effect.
Ultimately, Zane understood and came to terms with it.
When Frank Zane won the 1979 Mr. Olympia, Arnold was doing the TV coverage of it for one of the Networks-cannot recall but it may have been NBC.
So, Arnold starts interviewing Frank about the 79 O win and the first question is;
Arnold: So Frank, how did it feel to win the Mr. Olympia contest today?
Frank: Well Arnold, it almost felt as good as when I beat you!
BOOM!!!!!!!
Frank said Arnold was very upset, and that he believes this was the true reason Arnold entered the 1980 O, to beat Frank Zane for making himlook like a monkey on TV.
It should also be noted for the record that CBS spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in production costs to film the 1980 Mr. O, and after everything that happened refused to show even 5 seconds of the show-THAT SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE SHOW.
I bet CBS does not even know they still have that footage, they could make a gold mine by selling that show today.
