Ha, most of the elite powerlifters of the 50's- 80's are mere peons compared to some of the well muscled dynamos on Getbig.

455 in the bench is spectacular raw lifting.

You know that the record holders might get 400lbs out of the shirt right? This is a RAW lift we are talking about.

Most of the giant raw lifts are done by 300+ pound lifters, if you look at the #220-242 raw records, you'll see that a 455 raw bench still puts you in good standing among the vast majority of elite lifters in the sport. Unless you belong to one of the big powerlifting gyms, you'll wait quite a while before you see a good #455 by a bencher.

You just don't knock out #455 willy-nilly.

I'll slightly agree with your explanation but all I'm saying is there is usually 1 ort 2 guys per gym that can do that.

455 lbs bench is impressive for any bodyweight. I've been to a variety of gyms and the average most guys train with is 225 and the heaviest one rep about 365 for some of the stronger guys.

any time you bench damn near double your bodyweight that's sick....and to have more respect for that kinda weight..try getting under it. The weight doesn't care what it lands on..your face or the floor either way it's going to crush your ass if you don't respect it. I love how people even think mid 300's to 400's isnt' a big bench..yet they can't even unrack it.
