my mailman is a chainsmoking speeder.

He's been my mailman for years, and I've never punched him in the face.

I think this clearly shows I'm in the pocket of Big Tobacco and Big Auto.

Your analogy is not valid for two reasons:

Did you voluntarily choose your mailman, or was he assigned your route by the postal service?

Do you consider your mailman a close advisor on important matters?

If that analogy has anything to do with my last post.... ???
You can debate how much it affects your opinion of Obama but the facts remain that he has voluntary, political and spiritual connection with these people.  It concerns a lot of people.

Obama also wrote a book, kind of an autobiography where he definitely struggles with race (theres a version of him reading the book on tape).  Its not good or bad, just his journey...seems like defending the black community and uplifting the black community is what he has spent a great portion of his life and efforts on.  Maybe Obama is best in that capacity instead of being president of the entire US.  Its not a criticizm of him, I just don't think with his backround, civil rights focus and inexperience in high level government, that he is the most qualified to be president.

Again, I maintain that a piece of the person is the close company they keep.  Gives you an insight into their true beliefs, understanding and teachings.  If Obama had said these things himself, it would be much different.  With these two pastors as friends and spiritual advisors, it must at least raise questions...thats what we are doing.  Everyone campaigning for president, the highest office, needs to be under this kind of microscope.  Its the most important single position in the country.

Well said.  This is a legitimate issue.  I think it impacts his credibility too, because I don't believe he was unaware that Wright had such extreme views.

LOL

Only if you are very close friends with your chain smoking and fast driving mailman.

Does he also advise you on things that shape your political and spiritual beliefs?

He brings the WIC checks.  how much closer can two men be?

Just kidding.  We make too much $ to get WIC.  Although I'd certainly take them, if the govt would send me $600 a month of free groceries.
