CHILI
« on: April 06, 2008, 05:15:47 PM »
the leanest ground beef you can find
one can of black beans
one can of olives
garlic seasoning
one onion
chili powder
cumin seed
one can of beef broth

fry the ground beef with the onion shopped up in it.  pour in beef broth to desired consistancy. pour in garlic seasoning and cumin seed and chili powder...cook a little while longer. pour in the olives, stir and then serve.

just made this today and its awesome and just about as healthy and good for your physique as you can possibly make a meal.

Doesn't a can of beef broth have about 1,000 mg of sodium? Hopefully, you used a lower sodium version?  ;)

well, i guess it could be lower sodium, but i like high saodium intake...better pumps!  :)

midnite rambo- that recipe looks bomb! but im easing my way into a high carb intake, and i gotta stick to VERY low glycemic carbs as i increase y daily amount...that tomatoe puree would be too high glycemic for me right now im afraid..  but in maybe a week i will try out that version!

I make a killer white chili but I wouldn't exactly call it diet food. However, I have been tweaking the recipe to make it more healthy & BBer friendly.

Weren't you a low carber? I'm guessing it's OK to eat for most, but if you're worried about the carbs/sodium in toothpaste, then this is the wrong recipe for you.

Tastes great I'm sure.

what is white chili?

Usually made with chicken, great northern beans, & a rue (I don't know if the spelling is correct).

how ,many times am i going to have to say this....

i never said anything about not usin toothpaste! dave (squadfather) just said that because he loves to make fun of me and flame me...   it was another guy entirely who mentioned carbohydrates in toothpaste, and in fact i laughed at him and called him a pussy.

and yeah i went low cab/no carb for a long time...trying to lose fat...but now im just worried about gaining muscle, so i need carbohydrates... and i gotta use low glycemic ones like black beans, whole wheat bread, blueberries, lentils, and barley for a while untill i get used to carbs again.

Two questions for you regarding the above quote:

1) Tell me what essential means in regards to nutrition
2) State how many essential carbohydrates there are.

Thank you, in advance. :)

Food of the Gods.

One of the best things in the world to me is to add cheese, sour cream, & crushed up Fritos to some Chili...look out.

That's the only kind to add to it.

I used to live on that Chili-Frito mix when I was in college & waiting tables.

i hate to see someone put out the effort but not get results because of mis-information.

weight watchers is not a good system. no flame...

you should make a thread and ask for advice on diet. plenty of us here would be glad to help you if you asked.
