That is pretty damn good for 50 y/o, show me ANY other 50 year old that looks that good (Robby does not count).

LOL why doesn't Robby count?  Because he's also over 50 and looks better?   ::)

Louie looks very good there-especially for his age. I don't think he's on a big cycle there. Check him out during the early 90's during his Mr. O comeback weighing over 280-290 cut. That's what he looks like on a big cycle. He may be on a small replacement dose now of test, but that's about it.

Chem, what would you say he weighs in at there?

I agree...probably on HRT, like Zane is. Some test and a few grains of thyroxin per day.

250#, which is small for 6'5

Lou was training in contest shape at Gold's Venice at 315# when preparing for the 92? Olympia.

I am sure he isn't selling a thousand autographs at a BB expo but at that one huge comic book convention (i can't remember the name) I would think he would sell 1000 or at least close.  Those guys are hardcore collectors and people like that spend money.

I would agree with that.  It's also funny that bodybuilding's pinnacle competition does not compare to a comic con.  It reminds me of poker champions who win more than Mr. Olympia.

A very good friend of mine, Ron Garney, is now one of the top artists at Marvel.

He goes to these conventions and fans line up around the block to get his autograph.

You are right...these people spend the money at these things.

You can go to any comic rack and find Ron's work...he is penciling Spiderman and X-Men right now.

Funny note: we used to bounce in bars in college...and the less educated bouncers would tell Ron to give up the art work and 'get a real job'...you know how the rest of this story goes....

How much money does your friend rake in?  Is the price structure roughly the same as Lou's?

No, he is paid by Marvel, so he doesn't charge individuals at Comic Cons. He does do independent projects but am unsure of his income there. He is one of Marvel's top guys and makes great $.

Very cool Chick.

My father took me to a flea market when I was 14...gave me 5 bucks...told me to meet him back at his car in an hour (this is when you could walk around as a little kid and not get moilested).

I found an old guy selling tools...on the corner of his table was a stack of comics.

I asked him, "how much"

He said, "5 bucks, kid".

So I took one...he told me to takle the stack cause he wanted to get rid of them

In that stack was Spider man #1...which I still have today as one of my prized possessions....

Cool stuff, mike.  How long has your friend been doing spiderman?  Read those comics when I was a kid.  Great memories.

Which "Spider man #1"... The first appearance of Spiderman was "Tales of Fantasy #15"

The Spiderman tales did so well that they launched "The Amazing Spiderman" in 1963... If you have that book... It's a great find and almost impossible to come by.

If you have a "Tales of Fantasy #15"... you're blessed by the gods.

Ron has been with them for nearly 20 years...yeah, I still have all of mine, thankfully.
