Getting back into the whole 2x/day cardio thing and can't strap the laptop to the elliptical.

Thanks, CD - I actually rented it from the iTunes store, so it should go right onto the ipod, right?

Not sure, I have an iPod Touch myself, and some of the podcasts from iTunes don't work without conversion. But, in general it should work if you rented it from iTunes.

Small print:

Movies rented on the iTunes Store will play only on the current-generation iPod classic, iPod nano, and iPod touch.

What's a current generation ipod classic?  I'm pretty sure I don't have the nano or touch...the thing has been sitting in a box for most of the past year or so, but it's an 80GB video ipod.

If this doesn't play, Apple *will* be giving me my 4 dollars back!  >:(

It should just automatically synch to the Ipod. However if you have it set to Manual you'll have to select it under the movies tab inside your itunes. Click Apply and you're rolling.

Hmm, doing a 'restore' now because, when connected, it's just got a flashing red circle with the line through it with a 'Do Not Disconnect' warning.

When I clicked on sync, it would say 'sync is complete' after just 1 second, even though the movie is 2GB large.  When I ejected the ipod to see if the movie was there, it wasn't.

I don't have itunes in front of me but I'm pretty sure you have to select it to sync. Like a check box. Not sure though. My wife rents movies for her laptop. I personally haven't messed w/ it on mine.

Newest version of ipod classic is listed here: http://www.apple.com/ipodclassic/specs.html

Upgrade to the newest itunes software. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Should be version 7.6

Restart your computer

plug your iphone in after you restart.

The ipod should show up in itunes.

You can manually drag and drop the movie onto the ipod icon within itunes and it will copy or

Go to devices (on the left) - select your ipod - then go under the video tab (top right) - check the box "sync movies" and check the ones you want to add - then hit apply in the bottom right corner.
