The MD/DC/VA area is too close to where all the politicians live.

actually every october is the Maryland championships. Held in conjunction is the east coast classic. its is pretty much taking the place of the bodyrock now. steve mcaddams is even involved. this year was a very high level of compeditiors, and its growing every year. held in the baltimore convention center, in inner harbor. look at the marland website for info.....
