We've already employed robotics where is is cost-effective to do so (ie assembly lines, etc), but there will always be jobs where it is cheaper to put an 80-IQ human on it than it is to try to engineer robotics with sufficient processing/decision making power for the task.
Of course, (at least in the next 50 - 100 years), but the amount of jobs where it = cheaper to put 80IQ humans than robotics = being reduced every day. The cost of robots goes down and their complexity and ability to do more jobs goes up.
Think about it: Ditch diggers: Can be done by a robot. Cashier at the supermarket: Can be done by technology, eventually you might just order the merchandise online and some robotcar drives it home for you (we have robot driven cars already driving across the states), dishwashing: Can be automated, fucking Vince Basile in the ass: Can be done by Melissas fuck machine, hookers: Sex robots, cab drivers: car robots. And so on..
People still cry about "ohh we want human contact when we go to the bank/store/whatever", but when the choice comes between getting shit cheaper via a robot, and being served by a cashier in a bad mood, people always go for the first choice.
The need for idiot humans (below 100 IQ) will go down, yet they replicate the quickest. The solution: Upgrade them.
