Today's Pros have very poorly peaked biceps...
« on: May 15, 2008, 06:37:41 AM »
What is this a result of, or non-result of? Can anybody post some pics of examples of my statement?

Well. simply its a matter of size.
You can see many good biceps peak in todays amateur also.
If your biceps is totaly developed,no longer you cant see the peak like these.

Simply, todays pros are more developed than old days pros.Priod.

The old-timers seem to think you can shape your physique any way you want through training. I'm sure you do too.

It's all genetics.

A lot of these guys do a front double bicep...and the bicep head is flat...even and in line with the top of the deltoid...it may be that they do not supinate their hand enough while posing, but I doubt it. Maybe not enough refinement training...getting too big too fast...too many basic movements?

Well, if everyone thought that way, most would stay in bed, never strive, and amount to nothing.

Genetics is part of it. Some aspects can be surmounted.

If you think as you stated, you'd never be able to prove this right or wrong within the confines of your own genetics

Kyomu, you usually post much more intelligently than that...so I will give you a pass on this one... ;)

You don't need to prove anything at this point. All you have to do is look at pics of bodybuilders at different stages of their career. Same shape, only a size difference. Please post a pic comparison of a bb who changed their muscle shape. Out of all the bodybuilders who ever lived I'm sure there must be a lot of examples if it's possible.

You limit yourself, Spinnis...the great 'genetics' excuse.

Offer yourself some 'solutions'...instead of laying back, foolishly content, and 'living off the fat of the land'

What the fuck kind of stupid ass question is this.  Take a look at ronnie coleman's arms and then re-think your peaks talk!  Its all genetics!

Sure. Your words ring true.

However, it must be said that many likely sacrifice  quality for raw siize. This can connote to training misdirections which, when adjusted, can allow the bb to improve their appearance.

he is the exception...not the rule.

And I am simply laying this out there...I haven't stated anything as fact

Oh yes, about your overuse of the ! mark...the world hears you, quiet down :)

If you have a full long football shaped type of bicep,or one with a high peak,it will not change shape no matter how many preachers or concentration curls you do.

It can/will only get bigger, smaller, fatter,or leaner.............depen ding on what you are doing training and dietwise.

You can create an illusion of biceps height by increasing braciallis size however.

Howie = "you can win big shows without drugs"

Basile = "with the right training system you can build pro level size without drugs"

Arm peak can be dramatically improved regardless of genetics. Larry Scott, in his book loaded guns, shows pics of himself in the 1960's. he had great full biceps, but no great peak. Then, in the late 80's, early 90's, he trained using a lot of peaking and isolation movements. He shows comparison shots and his bicep peak is way improved. Even Sergio, in the mid 80's got a better peak on his biceps.

Bicep shape is all genetics.  Look at serio' and ferrigo's biceps.  Where were their peaks?  There are plenty of examples of all shapes of biceps from all eras.

Agreed, Chem. Truly a matter of concentration in some cases. Never limit oneself
