2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we're [sic] seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) the cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

I can point out pieces of legislation, corporate tax breaks, war spending bills, and borrowing done by repubs which has weaked dollar confidence and caused its slide against the euro.

I can point out that the dems tried to stop it.  Bush did 2 things to prevent them.  First, he held up bloody uniforms on tv and told moms that the dems would kill the troops if they didn't give him his $148 Billion war $.  Dems caved.  The next time it rolled around, they stood up to him and passed a bill with benchmarks to introduce, after 5 years of blind war, some sore of finish line/goals.  Bush vetoed it, and played te dead soldier card again.

You can call them imporant liars.  I just demonstrated they tried to chage things, and were vetoed by a guy who politicizes war.
