This flows overall much better than a guy with huge thighs but tiny calves, or Huge upper arms but tiny forearms

Hulkster and co, I know you guys love Ronnie, but claiming Yates had small arms is retarded. His arms where prolly bigger than your thighs. I dont understand this infatuation you have with talking about Yates, and his keg torso. We know he was blocky, and on the flipside, Ronnie had the largest distended gut I have ever seen. Not to mention, he has calves that belonge on a 210 pounder. IMO, both Yates and Ronnie ruined the sport, but some of these claims you make are pretty far out there.

All those guys had bodyparts that lagged behind other ones. For example, Dillet had no back to speak of. When Nasser turned around, he was a different bodybuilder, Colman's calves don't mach his quads, and Levrone had his issues over the years with his legs. It's all relative.

every bber will have some defficiency in a bodypart.

why not talk about ronnie's calves or abs which ruin most shots, where as yates' arms look great in most shots - side tri, side chest, abs and thigh, etc.

The usual incomplete argument, given that they all had weakness & that Dillet had fewer than others. Unlike the others he was virtually perfect except for the back issue, and even there he had decent width it was more the lack of detail.

In the color shot it's quite obvious that Dillet had good lat width as well as overpowering Yates everywhere else too.

In that first shot Yates was pressing the arms against the torso, creating the illusion of greater size. Anyone who doesn't realize that doesn't know much. And that was off-season at bulkier size.

Because arms are several muscles and are some of the few "show" muscles that most previous great BBs have great development in, see Larry Scott, Schwarzenegger, Oliva, etc.

Smallish arms + wide waist = powerlifter type physique, just as Schwarzenegger talked about in the 90s, not classic BB. A nice protype for Cutler.
