I haven't seen your pics, but if you're in shape, enter the show.  I'm sure Honour looks like a regular guy in the office, at 157 pounds.   But the $2k he won last year is more than Ben White will earn at a pro show in the next 2 years.

haha, the fact that it's true makes it really funny and sad :D

It's all in the way you look at it - glass half empty of half full. We have no other choice, if we as 'getbiggers' want to have a contest - this is the only way. Last year 4 nationalities were involved spanning 3 continents, which is actually kind of cool. Look at the positive, not the negative. While thousands of guys busted their ass on a 'real stage' for a trophy, all our guys took home cash.

That's a great point.

In my opinion, it takes a lot more courage to put your pics online, in a place where you spend time everyday, and be scrutinized by honest and sometimes cruel people who can view your flaws for hours with 800x zoom if they'd like.  If you can do the Mr Getbig, you can do any show.

LOL!...............try getting on stage in a speedo in front of hundreds of people/a table set up inches away from the stage with 10 or more people just waiting to inspect every little nook and cranny of your body looking for "flaws" or "weaknesses",all eyes on you in your underwear/having to perform a "routine" set to music to "entertain" the money paying audience/talk about nerves! (i was literally shaking),............you compare this to uploading a pic and asking for feedback!??!?!?!?!

i like you Rob but your wayyyyy off on this one!
The Mr Get-Big is great and i enjoy it every year/the guys work just as hard as anyone to get in shape, but it's not as "scary" as "posing in your underwear" for a crowd of people

I agree actually.

It is easier online, especially my division lol, and has some benefits [retake pics etc] but you definitely get torn apart. Far less of that IRL, far.

Besides, it's the only option we have. Off the top of my head I can think of at least 20 nations represented on Getbig - unless someone coughs up a million or so - we are not about to all get together and have a show realistically.
Actually CQ, what you said is the total opposite of what 240 said...  So you actually disagree.  Right?

In the end...we only get torn apart here online for two reasons.

1. There are people here who live to just find insult and ridicule...even if they can't find something actually wrong with the person in the picture, they will respond by insulting something immaterial to the pictures (such as the persons wallpaper, teapot on the stove, etc.)
2.  Or...ya get torn apart because you have hyped yourself up to be something you are not and then finally reveal the "real" picture of yourself (or someone else reveals the "real" picture of you) and you were not all that you had claimed to be.  :)

No, read the last bit of my quote - I said you get pulled apart far more, just far, which made me agree on the courage level.

I mean easier as in not holding poses for so long, comparisons etc - and my division, which obviously could only be done though youtubing - which would be much easier. If I fell on my ass, I could redo it, In fact I could redo it over and over. Onstage I get one shot only, I flip and fall  - thats it - so I make my routines well below my actual capabilities to avoid any slight chance of totally humiliating myself by landing on my head in front of 700 people.

I have basically given up with expecting any decent level of positivity for the Mr Getbig. I know understand that getbig is full of people who could have organised it better gotten more prizes etc, were really qualifed judges - and naturally most here look way better. It took me a while to get that - but now I do  :D

they all look shockingly shit. to give any of them a prize is ridiculous. their macabre faces make it look like a Sunday afternoon competition in a mental facility. i half expect to see jack nicolson in a fisherman's hat and a large Indian.

None of them claim to be pros. They are fathers/professionals/weekend warriors who did this for a personal goal and a laugh. It's a message board contest for fun - not the O. And in the end, every single one of them won more than 99% of pros did last year. Honour won more than walking pincushions who spend a fortune on gear will ever win in their *entire* life.

$8,500 worth of prizes have been given out in 2 years. Amazing how only 11 total guys have entered in 2 years, but we have dozens and dozens here who act like they are so much better, but no one enters.

I thank everyone who entered, all very nice guys and without them they would be no show [which is entertaining, we all must admit!]
