How deep are you guys going on the bench press to neck? All the way down to your Adams-apple?

I just started them 2 weeks ago and will be doing them today again. Just go as deep as comfortable. Shoulder girdle flexibility will determine the comfort/ability to perform them. Just give them a go and see what feels right for you...
|
No doubt about it...

Warm up good and be careful, I usually touch my chin. Your flexibility will improve in time.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I've only done them once, so was just seeing which spot everyone was aiming for. I'm flexible enough to reach my chin so I'll stick with that.

There is no exact place that you have to touch, but I personally feel that bringing the bar to the chin gives me a little better stretch and brings a tad more isolation to the chest. Remember to keep the elbows out to your sides! Also, keep this one light weight baby!!

I've been doing these the last 6 months and it's a great exercise! another tip is to lift your legs and butt off the bench, then they can't assist you and it's all chest

i have a bad lower back, and i only can do rowing movements off a bench...like dumbbell rows on an incline and the t-bar bench.
i have my first contest this summer, and was wondering if i can train around the injury and still put on muscle.
oddly enough, i can dead lift, but no bent over rowing.

If the weight is not too heavy then you really don't have to "think" about it.

I could if I still trained people. You have decent size, but are holding about 30 pounds of needless weight.

Why my question was deleted again? What was wrong this time? I repeat it again:
Jim, how do you develop a supplement when you have no studies?

Thanks for quoting me, just in case somebody deletes my question, people will be able to see that i didnt ask anything negative. And yes you are right, many of my posts (the positive ones, not the negative ones) have been deleted and ive been blamed of being negative
