Gayer than modifying the initial conditions of an emerging system slightly, thereby changing the outcome completely. Even gayer is it when you randomly change the initial conditions of this system into something you have no idea what is, what you call the factor X. Given that this emerging stuff will impact your life severely in the future, you are willing to risk having a future more unpredictable than neccessary, because of the emotional satisfaction the creation of this factor X gives you in one way or another. The factor X then gives your life an added dimension of exitement wherever the emerging system will have its influence, and since the effect of the system is now much more unpredictable due to X being unknown, you can no longer know what areas will be affected by the system.X becomes a source of spectacular exitement for you. You start trying to find the nature of X by interpreting every event in your life that on the surface seems random, because you know that X might have something to do with them. The importance of X intensifies for you, while the difficulty of actually finding out what X is also increases because of your increased emotional attachment to it, and the information overload that results from you trying to interpret everything you percieve as a result of the complexity that follows from the factor you don't know. Over time, the complexity grows, the chances of finding X might diminish, and your desire to find it + the paranoia grows by leaps and bounds. You understand that this world is to complex for you to comprehend, analyze and deconstruct after the selection or random formation (due to lack of initial reflection and action) of initial conditions, and you realize the simple truth: Be smarter when you select the initial conditions of something that can be analyzed as a system (which is about every choice you make), because the effects of the simple actions that leads to initial conditions flows into more areas than you can comprehend, while the cumulated consequences over time becomes millions of times bigger than the effort needed to consciously and intelligently select the initial conditions to ensure a future that fits your real values.
