Dunno... he just about mastered potty training with no real pressure.... just positive reinforcement and lots of clapping every time he did it.

We read every day. He has a lot of the books memorized, and babbles along with me, but I don't think he has much clue of what the words are yet. He just knows the stories so well.

I was an elementary school teacher for 6 years, and the wife is in her 5th year now I think. Once he's ready, we have all the tools ready for him.

Gayer than trying to figure out what getbig screen name I should give my son.

gayer than this being a common theme I see in kids that develop quickly and tend to be successful early on. I wish more parents would grasp this VERY simple concept...just spend time with your damn kids!

I have these pimsleur spanish CDs. It's like a 30 minute conversation, in english, then spanish. I used it to learn conversational spanish. My kid's been listening to it for about 8 months now. I give him directions in spanish (open door, let's go eat, want a drink?, etc) and he understands them.
