Gayer than living in the South and complaining about the weather. Apparently the bar had power. At least you had that.

It rained most of the day here where I live and was 49 degrees when I went to the gym. Like a miracle, when I left the gym it was a bit warmer and the skies had cleared. Hope it last through tomorrow.

gayer than not complaining about weather but on the warmest day of the year my power goes out to hell with that. Yea Canada is a bit cool still I imagine.

Gayer then I am not in Canada. Where did you get that idea? I live in a suburb of Portland, OR. which is a couple of hundred miles south of the Canadian border. I complain whenever the power goes out too, summer or winter. Fortunately, our power is underground so it rarely fails us. But when it does, it really pisses me off!

gayer some reason I thought you were but the elevation is about the same. Mine is too I think the mofos turn off on purpose so they can still charge you the same.

Gayer than I am only charged for the electricity I use. If the power is off, the meter stops turning. Never-the-less, with an electric bill that averages around $100 a month, I think they should do a better job of keeping the power flowing. Also, I do not have air-conditioning, about the hottest it ever gets is 85 or 90 degrees. This rarely lasts more than a couple of days. Our house manages to stay about 10 to 15 degrees cooler. It must be pretty well insulated. I do run a ceiling fan in the loft and turn on the fan on the furnace to circulate the air though. Unfortunately the power goes out more often in the winter than in the summer. Winters here can get a bit chilly sometimes.

Gayer than, me not understanding how that would work. Are you saying they make up the charges and that what we are charged is not determined by the meter outside our homes?

Incidentally, my electric meter now transmits the information directly to PGE (Portland General Electric). The meter reader person does not read the meter any longer. Less employment costs, but yet the rates keep going up. That is wrong, very wrong!
