Yes that is the name sorry.  He died didn't he.  I saw some pics of him at some award ceremony and he looked really really bad. Was in a wheelchair i think.

dieted down looked like a bbuilder along lines of ahmad haider

did some research and he did die of brain cancer. he was a radiologist. apparently he was a real smart guy.

No, but I do recall he was prominently featured in Hoffman's mags all the time in the late 70's.

Truly an anomaly, and, as you wrote, not a big guy at all.

I understand he does still compete.

Atrue fan of the sport would.  I know I do.  Crazy strong lifter with tehabsolute BEST deadlifting genetics ever.  Also had some innovative gear and training ideas as well.

didn''t he always beat Chuckie Dunbar at the worlds??  chuckie was a midget powerlifter who eventually won the world championships.
