He seems like a presumptuous nutbag.

He seems not to understand the concept of God's Grace.

They are picketing the funeral?  For what reason?  And what does he have against Jerry Seinfeld?  lol oh brother!

How dare you question the righteousness and godliness of God's chosen ones, Westboro Baptist Church? ???

The only attribute of this guy is 'old'. Carlin in contrast was young when he died.

Phelps is on the fast-track to Gehenna himself. As hard as it may be, we as believers should pray for him.

Phelps is a miserable human being and a coward.

If he had any issue with Carlin, or any of the other people whose funerals he protests, then he should protest them while they are alive.

He's a sick, miserable human being and he probably hates himself more than anyone else

Christianity, in its origins, texts and actualy historical practise is a cult of exclusion, of bigotry and of intolerance; in this respect Mr. Phelps is an astounding exemplar of Christian principles, much more so than you are.

Er...thanks for the compliment?  lol ;D

But I disagree w/your concept of Christianity.

Christianity is:

1)  Receiving the cleansing of Jesus Christ
2)  Becoming Christlike and serving others

In addition, it is not a "cult of exclusion."  Jesus died for everyone's sins.  The free gift of forgiveness is available to anyone who will receive it.

And those who don't choose to 'receive it' are doomed to burn in hellfire for all eternity; if that is not an exclusive club, I don't know what is.

Well said, Buddyro!

Nutcase is a valid description.

But, what we don't know is where George Carlin is....up or down?  If he denounced God the same way he denounced religion, then there's evidence to believe he's not in heaven.  For all we know his beef could have been just with religion, something totally different from having a personal relationship with God.

I think he is perfectly sane, given the parameters of his belief; he is true to the bible for one thing.

No he's not.  Even if Carlin stated he rejected Christ as Savior and it was true when he said it, no one knows what happened in Carlin's mind in the last 10 seconds before he died.

Phelps is not "true to the bible" in a lot of things.

I guess he's either dead like Magritte, or writhing around in the bowels of the earth, with a lot of other damned souls, as illustrated in the yellow portion of the diagram below.

Never really understood the concept of hell, or heaven, for that matter.  Where are they really? Is heaven somewhere in outer space, or do souls hover just above the clouds? Is hell frozen over as in Dante's vision, or is it the yellow part of the diagram? Are souls just plain dead until the rapture? So many questions.
