Regardless of legitimacy, Goodrum will likely claim some sort of victory here.  Is he justified in doing so...especially considering the great expense he went to in order to get all those posters torn down?

Dear Athletes and Officials,

After receiving several death threads within the last month and other series of negative things that have
what happened to us,we decided after carefully deliberating,to cancel the show. We do not take this lightly because we care about the Athletes but our personal safety is more important. Not only our personal safety, but as well of the participants. We consultat several people about our problem and finaly came to this dicision. I know I will loose our face over this and we put already $40000 in this show, which we will never get back but we still have our lives. No Bodybuilding show is worth to put your family or Athletes in danger.

All entry fees and ticket fees will be returned within 10 days.

I didn't have anything to do with the posters being torn down. I did however contact every sponsor of that the show had and Governer Schwartznegger's office to invalidate the letter.
So although I did have a lot to do with its downfall, The victory is for the NPC USA promoter who spent years building up the event.  He didn't deserver to have some asswipe try to literally upstage his hard work over the years and ride his coattails

No one here believed that the amount of prize money being promised would ever be paid out.  The question is, did any *competitors* believe it would be? 

There are only three reasons for a show to be canceled this late in the game (and 'death threads' are not one of them):

1) Labor strike makes venue unavailable

2) lack of sponsorship dollars

3) lack of performer entry fees

Is it possible that #3 or maybe a combined #2-3 was what put this show on ice?
