How big is the tat? I was there next day with most of mine

Just make sure you have them covered with an antibacterial

as long as you aren't putting pressure on it, no need to wait. otherwise a week.

also, buy H2Ocean for healing.

Cool, The tattoo guy said 20 days. But, it not that big, just an upper arm tat. Im not too worried about stretching it. Im little worried about sweat soaking it tho. Im going to finish waiting out the week, and on monday, i just try to keep it as dry as possible.

I've trained the same day. Depends on the spot. Staph infection is really your concern, and it's not very common. I'd be careful with joint tats, though, with all the bending. Might work around those for a couple days.

The ink will be fine. Tats heal whether you want them to or not. Sun is a bigger concern for fresh artwork.

Not an issue.

And twenty days is overly-cautious policy jibberish. Worst case scenario lawsuit stuff.

the only real issue with working out is that it results in more showering. but honestly as long as you generally keep it in good conditioning and don't put it under the water for too long, you should be fine. my ink hasn't been hurt at all except by sunlight.

i have 9 tats working on #10 n never waited for healing time or nething and they were just fine.  i know others who train right after n nutthing happened.  just make sure u have it covered in cream like the others said.   anit bacterial soap is a must with washing and caring for a new tat, no regular soap big no no.  U can cover ur tat while in the gym but nothing too tight, somthing very lose where the tat can breath and there is no friction, but best not to if u can.  keep the tat out of the sun for a minimal of 2 wks.

the bitch part of the whole thing is when the tat starts to heal is the scabbing and itching that will come with it. so by all means! DO NOT SCRATCH UR TAT.  have fun ;).

Is this your first one? Sounds like it. Like someone said, if it's in the joint somewhere wait 10 days or so to finish peeling, since it's on the upper arm(probably shoulder area?) I wouldn't be too concerned about it, take the week off and relax a bit............and DON"T ITCH IT WHILE IT'S PEELING!!!!!!!!! >:(

jeezus fuck that was the worst part. i did my huge piece in two sittings, almost all of it in the 2nd one, and it itched soooo bad. i had to almost bite my finger at one point. fortunately if you take care of it and don't pick at it, the thing heals a lot faster, but wow. wow.

A good cream will help, but not much. Ya just gotta grin and bear it, find something else to keep you mind off it. The worst is sleeping, you'd wake up in the middle of the night scratching and not even realize it until too late.

Yep, first one. It is on the delt and upper bicep area. I don't know if it is just mental, because of all this itch talk.
but my tattoo is starting to itch like a guy :(

i always used to freak out when i'd shower and little colored flecks would fall out. somehow i thought my tattoo was completely falling off.

oh and there was the one day when i got up and my entire tattoo decided to shed in my sleep and my mattress was COVERED with skin bits.  :P

You can always get it retouched for free by the same artist.
