What is the best way to get out of a gym membership?

I joined the wrong gym.

How can I get out of the 3 year contract?

get a doctor to write you an note stating you can't train anymore due to illness or physical inability

moved more then 50 miles away, and paid the $200 cancellation fee. Like i did >:(
It depends on the place, gold's lets you transfer your membership to another person.

Absolutely. I got sick of spending money on a Ballys membership I never used so I had my title guy write me a fake document saying I had moved 35 miles away(different rules around here). No questions asked, took me 5 minutes. No cancellation fee either.

my friend don joined la fitness a few years back...really hated it..he just took charge w/ billing dept and it took a lot of paperwork but he was able to quit

You guys notice how cheap gym memberships are now? Around me they are 20 bucks a month, no contract. I remember paying 150$ for 3 months not too long ago.

werd, I went back to a gym I SWORE was 60$ like 5 years ago. I got a membership for 20$ a month open ended, no questions.

Do you still have the contract? Get a lawyer to look over it and find a loop hole.

a few hundred bucks to a lawyer could be worth it in the long run.
