What would you do in this situation? (Plasma Tv)
« on: July 21, 2008, 06:46:25 PM »
You buy a plasma, it burns in through normal use.  The manufacturer doesn't cover burn in.  You're past the 30 day return policy of the store you bought it from.
What would you do?

Possible ideas:
-Kill the salesman
-Kill yourself
-Buy another one, then sell the new one, return the old burnt in plasma (hoping they don't check the serial number on the tv, and just the box)
-Suck a big titty

Joking aside, any great ideas?

I like your style.  Sounds like a nice option.  Rather than buy it at the same store, go to Costco.  I'm checking to see if they carry Samsung.  Or maybe Sam's Club.
FAIL.  Neither store carries the 58" Samsung.  I'm guessing Bestbuy would be too swift for the "bait and switch" move.
Any other ideas?

I have a bitchin' 24-inch LCD tv in my office.  it cost $130.

When it breaks, I'm going to sneak it onto the neighbor's trash pile in the middle of the night.

Then I'm going to the superTarget and getting another.

Lol 240 your so cheap.

Croath how old is the TV?  That sucks, I would do a exchange at a store that carries the same TV and doesn't require a receipt for exchange, there are a lot of stores now that let you return exchange stuff without a receipt now days.

Keep us updated brother!

damn that sucks.

if you could staple the new box and seal it just like it was never opened after you put your old plasma in it to return..that would be ideal. They'd never check it i'm sure at a costco, bj or sam like the other poster said at all. cash purchase cash refund would be great also but that is a stretch.

Lol 240 your so cheap.

I know.  I have 3 target LCD tvs in my house.  and I have all 3 boxes in my garage.  One of them breaks, I'm taking that beyotch back.

Croatch, on your next TV, buy one that is the same model as a tv owned by a friend, acquantance,, or girlfriend.  When yours breaks, sneak into their house and switch them out.  They'll just think theirs broke.

I know a few women who have done this at many stores, including Best Buy.  Go for it.

Why do only men talk about big plasma screens while women watch far more tv?

Is it because your penis is small Croatch?

Are you saying the Plasma TV broke after a few months of normal usage???

If that is the case I would take it back to where you bought the item-past the guarantee period or not-and make them take it back.

There is an implied warranty of normal usuage in all products, and an expensive item breaking by manufacturer defect or design is covered.

Next stop would be small claims court-if it came to that-which it shouldn't if the retailer was reputable.

If you bought it with a credit card, there's a good chance the CC company doubles the manufacturer's warranty.

Stealing from Costco or any other company is for trash.

The only problem with this is that all the electronics sold at Costco are made for Costco.  YOu might see something at another store just like the one you bought but there is something different.  Like with computers which I know they do they load different software or a different size HD or something.  And in some cases just the model number is just off from others.  TV and shit like that i have no idea but they usually have their own bar code or serial number that is different from other stores.  You might be able to get away with it at first but it might catch up.

Pay off all your debts and/or take at least half of your cash out of the bank and buy gold and/or silver.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Sorry, you're 100% wrong.  Come over some time, I'll show you plenty of burn in, through normal usage.  Not image retention, but burn in.  Companies spew this, but in reality, it's horseshit...hence the point of this post.
That is what I thought.

How old is this TV?
The Samsung is 6 months old.  Just came out earlier this year.  Plasma=Great picture, guaranteed burn in
Most people have things burnt in, but just don't realize it.  It's too bad because it's the best picture you can have.
