why? i understand you want functional movements but some hack machines are just as good as the squat with less stress on the lower back. muscle performance comes from muscle stimulation so what does it matter

 A machine has a FIXED range of motion = loss of coordination.

 A maching does NOT teach you to absorb force.

 Never understood the "stress on low back" theory? Thats one of the amazing qualities of squats , the aspect of spinal loading.

Muscle performance DOES NOT come from muscle stimulation. 

Muscle Performance comes from the nervous system.

Coach,

if she has shoulder issues then a cambered bar or safety squat bar would be alot better.Also I know you follow Westside however Louis Simmons coaches his lifters to sit back MUCH further onto the box. Her heels are off the ground and her knees are WAYYYY to far forward. Both a huge no no. I would also drop the box to parallel.

I agree, but at that gym we don't have either. But at MetRx we do have a safety bar. When we took those pics, it was an 18" box, we're below parallell now.

There is a relationship between size and strength, but it is not a direct one.  World class javelin thrower Andreas benching 400 lbs with 12 inch arms.

So what? He still moves weight you guys could only dream of. Some bouncing don't take anything away from the fact that the kid has amazing strenght.

In all fairness, Devon97 knows his shit when it comes to training athletes and looks the part. He not a bodybuilder, but is in awesome shape.

When you say something outrageous like an athlete should do legpress or hack squats be prepared to give a reason why.
For example when I say that legpress and hack squat are awfull for an athlete I can give several correct reasons why.

Hormone cycles are a cause of alot of it.
