Low Testosterone
« on: August 14, 2008, 10:52:57 AM »
Dhea level was found to be at the very low end, 80, when a good level for this age is  400-500.   Dhea is necessary for production of sex hormones like T and E.

I have begun supplementation with DHEA as recommended by my doctor, will this possibly help boost test levels since DHEA was very low?

With lower serum test, is it possible to make good gains, provided that alot of effort is used in workouts and diet is great?

450 is very low for an 18 year old man.  You can still progress in your training with that, although not as quickly as someone who was on the higher end of the spectrum.   try that supplement your doctor recommends then get your test checked again in 3 months.

Thanks for the reply.  It's good to know that my efforts in the gym aren't fruitless.

I added in 4000 iu of vitamin D today after reading some evidence of vitamin D helping T, as well as one person's test results:

http://stanford.wellsphere.com/healing---recovery-article/vitamin-d-and-testosterone:-another--quot;fountain-of-youth-quot;-find/18963

This guy used topical test and stopped, in 4 yrs after stopping test cream and starting high-dose vitamin D his test is up to 728 from 328 naturally, at age 50 something.

Am on day 2 of DHEA, taking 75 mg ed, along with 500 mg B6 and 50 mg zinc to help metabolize estrogen, and multi-vit of course.

Experiencing a slight, consistent aching feeling in balls, as well as a bit of increased libido, but not enough to say for sure whether its a placebo effect.  Could the aching be test being produced, or a shutdown of some kind?  Have pretty good size "objects" considering my test was this low.

normal range is 250-1300 - what is the problem here?  Your are above the normal range, you are fine shit.  Low test would be below the normal range...

Also I seriously doubt any doctor or endo would ever give test therapy or whatever you are looking for to a normal 18 year old male!  If you wanna do roids go ahead and do them.

You will make good gains with that test level. If those numbers are correct your total test is fine.

My serum testosterone was measured at 450, just got the results, normal range is 250-1300.  Now, for a 18 year old male, this is not good?  :-X

Before you start anything you need to talk with your doctor as to why these levels are low for your age. Testosterone levels fluctuate through the day and from day to day.  When was the blood drawn?  Are you stressed?  Do you take other "prohormones---some of which, including DHEA will shut you down), do you have a brain tumor? have you had head or testicular trauma?  There are several questions that need to be answered....

Well idk about my testosterone now, tried some really high dose zinc - 4 x 30 mg /day  and vitamin d - 8 X 1000iu capsules

and it seems to be doing something, like i get hardness every single morning with that (is that usual?)

and ive got a bit more facial hair now.

and coffee..  there is this special acid-free coffee that you can drink as much as you want without stomach crap, so i drink 4 cups before workouts and ive gotten to preacher curls 45 on each side, a five on each side, and a 2.5 and collar on each side, full range, for 18 reps, and 100 lb db press for 15 reps,  skullcrushers 45 on each side 16 reps,  which isn't that great..  but some significant pregress with my low test all natural.

I had the same pain in my balls as well when I was taking DHEA.....it hurt like hell after awhile even when I was walking....I stopped taking it and the pain went away right away.......I also experienced higher libido...that part was great...

The only time I get pain in my balls is when I go from off cycle to on with test prop at very high dosage and it isn't that bad, I seriously doubt some vitamins from the store will make your test levels rise hardly at all if any.

LOL I did not read original post all the way at first, "an aching in your balls"  Hahahahah.

Yes that is a very significant sign of your test levels comming back... my aching nutz. Keep talking like that and the gym will bring you lots of fruits.   :D
