I'm talking height here and this is a weird story, so I automatically assume most GBers will not believe it-but I don't know how I could prove it so I won't try. The men in my family are all tall, both sides. Both of my parents are tall and my grandparents are tall. Somehow I am not as tall as the rest of them.
Getting back on track. I've had 3 drivers licenses issued to me since then: on the first two I was 6ft tall and the third, 5'11.5".
Now here's the thing: I did some serious ligamental damage and later major disc damage to my lumbar spine when I was 15(almost 16) at the USAPL nationals. I have pretty much dedicated this last year to lumbar therapy-stretching, chiropractic, and physical therapy. When I went back and visited my family and friends in the states, everyone commented on how I seemed taller-and some really insisted that I was. I shrugged it off because I'm 25 and that would be goofy. Anyway, my mom insisted that I was and I let her measure me-2x. I started with my shoes on, stood up straight, made a mark on the wall, and got out the tape measure. 6ft 2.25in. I thought, now wait a second, I wear normal tennis shoes, they're not that elevated. Took'em off and I was just under 6ft.1inch tall. I don't know if this happens to other people who have had serious disc issues, but I have heard that astronauts coming home from space for extended period of times are often a couple inches taller than they were when they left due to the alleviation of the compression on the spine.
Kind of goofy, huh? I've decided I'm keeping this up until I'm 6'3" like everyone else and I have two full functioning legs-lost feeling and function in one leg and the calf is still about 1/4 gone.
