hmm never considered or pondered on how profound an effect lack of sleep had on the mind-----it seems obvious once you consider it but never having that problem its never something that crossed my mind

is it the tiredness or just the lack of being able to separate your mind from you body for any substantial amount of time, thus having to deal with reality at least twice as much as a man who sleeps regularly??

Both. Lack of energy to accomplish my mental and physical goals; exhaustion, inability to focus. I have had this crap for 13 years. There is some stuff I want to try before taking the next step but at the end of the day, not being able to do anything or concentrate sucks...don't want the next 40 years to be like this.
