Alcohol is LEGAL - u dont arrest RESPONSIBLE drinkers.

No one ever overdosed on pot. However, i can name a few incidents where alcohol has caused death.

marijuana has 400 chemicals. Coffee has 1500.

Cigarette smokers are at a much higher risk for health effects. Nobody smokes 20 or 30 joints a day, unlike cigarettes.

So, with alcohol and cigarettes being a much higher HEALTH risk, one cannot argue for the health consequences.

It should be completely legal and taxed. But, bottom line, it DOES cause impaired motor skills. However, so does tylenol pm and Nyquill.

But, u can relate this the same way. Over 750,000 people go to jail for "smoking pot." Can u comprehend this? It is DUMB and COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.

I do agree, and it comes down to one reason. $

I could go to wal-greens and buy a pack or Marlboro Marijuana cigarettes (that these tobacco companies could very easily manufacture and reap TONS of money. i might add. California alone estimated 2 billion in taxes from just pot.

UNFORTUNATELY, i dont want to buy 30$ carton when i can grow my own.

Its just the lack of rational and legitimate reasoning on behalf of the antagonist (government) that really pisses me off.
Its not like republicans dont smoke pot.

There is a top narcotics officer turned "bad guy"

, "pot smoker", who tells it how it is.

3 a.m., full raid gear, loaded guns - busting down doors of a nice family who just happen to smoke. Kids get seperated thru DHR. Parents go to jail. He was sick of it and realized the mature and right thing to do was fight this bs.

i don't smoke and i am all for it (tax the shit out of it and make us some money plus a good boom for all the tobacco farmers who are losing their shirts) but what i see holding it back is the ability to enforce the taxes how does anyone know if that joint your smoking came from a tax free drug dealer or from the corner weed store. plus they are thinking that weed smoke may have a few more carcinogens then anyone ever thought

Coca cola has Diabetes written all over it, and its still legal.

Mcdonalds is legal.

Walmart is legal.

However, pot DOES have medical benefits, this CANNOT be DENIED. If u are anti-med pot, then try having glaucoma or aids and cancer, let me know how that goes with ur "pills". Im not in it for medicinal purposes, that just happens to be a benefit thru which it is offered. Plus, there would be more initiative for major medicinal companies to study the benefits.

one thing you have to be ready to argue about when you go the medicinal route is the fact that they have perscription pills that are derived from the plant already ( i just sat through like an hour long video on drugs in the work place and this was pretty much one of the topics that it covered......... of course that is one doctor guys words i dont know any of this first hand) what they have made up in pill forms relieves pain and they have appetite stimulants

the fact there are HEALTH concerns. You "cant" smoke because its "bad", but u can down a lb of fat lard and promote heart disease.

Marijuana also has good medicinal qualities. It'd be a safer alternative to treating mild to chronic pain than opiates, and it'd be good for insomnia, appetite loss from aids/cancers and various other ailments.. Obviously, most people use it for recreational purposes, which I also think is fine considering a joint is safer than a bottle of liquor. MJ being banned is pretty hypocritical considering alcohol is legal. Alcohol causes serious addiction with withdrawl, and both liver and brain damage. It's also easy for an inexperienced drinker to overdose on alcohol, or have serious alcohol impairment related accidents.

Marijuana should be legalized.

There is too much money to be made policing it. The government doesn't want to take the risk that they could make more money legalising it. If they wanted, they could always do it and spin the hell out of it. Always. Look at Iraq and the WMD.
