Not being American, Can i assume Obama will be president?
« on: August 29, 2008, 01:01:50 PM »
All the news in UK is about Obama, I dont think anyone here even knows who Mccain is, without being bothered to read through, does it look like he will be the one in The Whitehouse?

It's no gurantee.  Give them a few presidential debates and maybe some mud slinging and then maybe it will be more apparent who will be president.  Right now McCain has lots of work to catch up, but the Republican party is extremely good at winning elections.

Just curious, why do you guys care?  Most Americans couldn't name one single leader from another country.  That doesn't speak much about America, of course.

Because they want to know if there are going to be any more fu*k ups (iraq, sub prime etc) that effect global commodity prices and depending on who is voted in, it puts a realistic clock on when China and eastern countries become the super powers and America fades back to nothing more than a nuclear capable country with a decent economy a la UK, France, Russia etc. If it's McCain it'll be sooner than if it's Obama.

No.  I live in Miami, and don't know of one person who says he/she will vote for Obama.  That should tell you something.

Exactly how can it be responded to?Has there been a scientific study that has proven or disproven any other countries citizens apart from USA are clueless and social bores? His specific post needed no response to the claims as they were clearly the ramblings of an unintelligent man.

I disagree. His point was that the opinions of other citizens of other countries have no bearing and should be disregarded. You seem to have another view point but have chosen to attack Moose instead of voicing it. How do you feel about people of other countries telling us how they feel?
