Thats pretty crazy. I had a full tear of the bicep in late March. Mine didn't start to retract until the day of surgery and then by 4 centimeters. Tore mine doing preacher curls though, maybe the heavy deadlifts made his much more dramatic, I dunno.

i tore mine doing shrugs with a over/under grip and it did just that, tore then rolled up immediately. It sucked long road back from that one.

If I recall correctly, I believe double underhanded rows with heavy ass weight was the cause of some of dorian's muscle tears..

My friend just had that happen last week and he just had the operation two days ago. He called my when he was driving himself to the emergency room right after it happened. he was screaming he was in so much pain. He said the doctors said it was one of the worst they have seen. They had to drill holes in his bone to reattach stuff. He is in a cast now.

The guy is pulling 800 pounds plus a shitload of chain weight. Only the rare few that do a double overhand hook grip (chances are you dont even know what I am talking about) with that much weight, would be able to pull that off. If you offset the hand that is faced out a little bit in the mixed grip, you will prevent bicep injuries like this. On the other hand, Ano is probably on some nice hormone thrapy, so muscle tears are inevitable.

gotta be smart. i never do reverse grip when going heavy on deadlifts. rather use doubble overhand and strap up really good.

right after you tear the bi, if its a complete tear it really doesn't hurt unless you try to flex the arm. The common procedure for fixing a ruptured bicep is drilling Thur the bone to reattach the bicep. So it sounds like your buddy has a real low tolerance for pain
