Conjoining those two concepts could yield this idea:  members from two parties yielding to the judgment of another...namely the president...a republican.

In other words, the Congress yielded to the republican president as a sign of national unity and the president and the republican portion of the congress turned around and exploited the goodwill for political gain.

By political gain, I mean removing all oversight of the executive branch in passing the patriot act, the white house issued white papers re Iraq's wmd capabilities along with sticking it to the democrats as soft on terrorism.

So the Democrats that yielded their power are no better than the Republicans that enroached upon it? Gotcha.

Funny how Berzerkfury has always started the racial name calling, yet when I respond in similar fashion, I'm the racist.  I have never mentioned race or ethnicity as a way to insult someone on this or any other board unless it is done to me first. If provoked, however, I will swing back and swing back viciously because that is how I am. This little 21 year old know-it-all breaks out all the racial stereotypes in the book whenever he posts about me. I'm poor?  How does this juvenile know what's in my bank account? What makes believe this other than racial stereotypes?  So I respond in similar fashion by bringing out his jewish heritage that he IS ASHAMED OF, and mock him for being several rungs of education beneath me. Nothing he says can effect me because he is dealing with an adult, not a child, who is battle tested by life and UNABASHEDLY proud of who he is and my life accomplishments. My grandfathers were that way (they owned thousands of acres of land and their own businesses during a time in the south where you had to be be TWICE as GOOD as WHITES to get anywhere in life), and my parents (both Ph.D holders) further instilled my pride in who I am and made me comfortable in standing FLATFOOTED and FIRM with anyone of any nationality.

Every now and then I have to provoke Berzerk for shits and giggles. He's such an insecure Jew that he resorts to "statistical studies" to prove his "superiority".  He an assclown, but sometimes I enjoy his rants. They are always the same. Frankly, it is rather sad that someone so young and who has experienced so little in life would harbor such racist thoughts and possess such exceptional arrogance.  I was quite cocky at 21 because I was streetwise and smart. However, I deep down knew that I had much to learn about life and respected my elders because that is how my parents raised me.  When I had a chance to travel the world a bit, learn other cultures and languages, and meet brilliant people of all ethnicities, nationalities and levels of education, my perspective towards myself and others changed. And I will continue to learn and grow as I travel, read, and expand my realm of friends and acquaintances. Once you get the travel bug it changes you for life. I am still a bit arrogant though, as my girlfriends have often told me.
