I'm hearing on PBBW ... Bob talking about how Phil could very well take #2 at the Olympia behind Jay.

This is Phil's first Olympia, and Dexter beat Phil earlier this year. 

Dexter is a lot bigger than Phil, with a lot more muscle maturity.  Dex is coming in bigger this year.  I bet Dex is listening, wondering why he's getting brushed off when he's still #1 from the ASC.

Dexter is not a lot bigger than Phil and with equal or better conditioning Phil will replace Dexter for second

Jay released a photo of himself.. it was just upper body.. but he was already shredded AND he was vascular** !

240- there HAS to be significant behind the scenes "things" that specifically DEx, Jay, Phil and possibly Wolf know. The 5 episodes made with jay and dex. Phil is a well known "student" so to speak of Jays. Wolf is perhaps being portrayed to a lesser extent, but, his WOW FACTOR is still there and the possibility for him to be 2nd cant (at this point at least) be disregarded.

Like quaker said about melvin- Dex is fucking insane, BUT, the same "nothing special" again year after year. Heath presents a much better package (imo) - something different.

Dex is -small waist, ripped, small calves - year after year.

What a 3-way final that 2009 would be...  Jay wanting revenge over Dex, with Phil probably coming in better than both of them.

The only thing at play here would be "going down in history" - Jay already has 2. Yea, if he brings 3 great - if not, he still gonna get paid out the ass. Dex has been in the O so damn long now - maybe a political move has to be made and he has to win

Dexter has not stayed the same. People always use to say this about Sean Ray as well. Dexter has slowly improved EVERY year. This year he has added some size, AND he came in sharper than he has ever been.... and looking at pictures of him during this offseason..it appears hes even bigger now than he was at the Arnold.

Like Ray used to, Dex makes gradual progress while maintaining conditioning, symmetry, and aesthetics. A true bodybuilder.

Jay's been carrying darn near pre-contest condition the entire year.  I'm not so sure he'll have any 'wow' factor left. He's been near-peak all year.  He did that last year, and we know what happened there...

what is your rationale for that statement? Its not like its night and day for him. He comes in 97-99% shredded each year. Not like its a significant jump and he all of a sudden is munzeresque. He has maintained year after year.

At this years Arnold Classic he was slightly more detailed than he has been in the past.

Phil is clearly being groomed by the "machine" to be the next Mr. Olympia. Dexter is clearly superior to Phil in every way but he will never be Mr. Olympia. Not because Dexter doesn't have the best physique but he would NEVER be the puppet that is required to be Mr. Olympia today. Jay will be Mr. Olympia as long as he wants (please let it end soon) and then Phil will be the next Mr. Olympia.

None of this however will stop Dennis Wolf from having the best physique on the planet for at least the next 5 years.

By signing Dex, Muscletech is making sure they have a valid option in case Jay shows up in the same disastrous shape as last year. This is going to be a transitional year: if jay shows up in a half decent shape, he'll have his third Sandow and he might retire. If the difference with Dex is too obvious, Dex has a slight (though minimal) chance to win. Wolf will look as impressive as last year but no way they'll give it to him. Phil will soon be Mr O though the hype is just...well,hype. He's marketable but far from beeing that impressive. Wolf will probably destroy him. And lucky for him, Vic won't be there to make him look like a pale copy.

Ronnie won 2004 and 2005 thanks to the awful competition. Guts hanging all around the place. So Jay will have to control his this time as Wolf, Heat and Dex look pretty decent in that department.
