You know, McCain didn't just pick Palin up at a job fair or something...  she is the Governor of a state for christ's sake.  But let's look at Obama...  prior to winning the Senate election two years ago (and all he's really done since getting there is "run for president") he was a state legislator in Illinois...  that's not even a full-time gig!  ::)  His day job was being a "community organizer" which is the politically correct term for the guy who's always going on the news bitching about how the black man has been "wronged"...  every city has at least one of these wingnuts.   Of course, unlike Palin, Obama isn't running for VP...  he wants to be President!

Honestly, if you think Palin is unqualified, so is Obama.   Here's a thought:  why don't we flush them both and vote "McCain/Biden" if you want experience.

Obama is relatively well-spoken and is very in tune with what is going on in the world around us.  Palin hasn't the faintest idea.  Palin is getting hammered right now with wrongdoings within her own state.  When do these sort of things happen to Barack?  Palin believes we are fighting a "Holy War."  Barack wants to use diplomacy and work with other nations in pursuit of peace.  Barack does not want to engage in military conflicts, McCain and Palin are ready to go to war with Russia.  Palin doesn't even know what the Bush Doctrine is!  I'm tired of hearing about her experience in Alaska.  Alaska is a very small state population-wise.  Let's see her win ANYTHING outside of such a state.  She's been in office less than two years trying everything in her power to stave off this trooper investigation.  She's making her daughter marry a guy who doesn't want anything to do with her kid and the prospect of having one.  She can't handle any tough questions!  She's lucky the McCain campaign has tried to hide her somewhat, as she would have spouted off even more ridiculousness and dug an even bigger hole than she has now!

As I said before, Barack is far from perfect, but he dances in circles around these two.

in those town hall meetings... Palin is getting beat on by college kids asking questions.

When asked about her foreign policy experience, she just didn't answer the Q.  She just ignored it.  She talked about how if she is blessed enough to win, she'll be ready, and other simliar fluff.

She didn't answer why she's prepared. She just ignored it.

Did you notice how many times she mentioned "Charlie" during the interview *cough* interrogation with Charlie Gibson?  The poor lady looked as if wanted nothing more than to run for the hills.  She doesn't know anything about anything.

I'm astounded by Palin's lack of ability to answer a political question.  There's a certain skill to answering a tough question without giving a definitive answer.  Clinton was an absolute master of this.  Obama is pretty good.  Palin and McCain are horrible beyond compare.  It's amazing to watch them being grilled and not having the faintest idea as to how to respond.  Bye bye GOP!

Well, since he has zero executive experience overseeing an entire state's public employees, we'll never know.  Legislators, unless they're taking bribes or soliciting gay sex in an airport bathroom, don't generally do much that has the opportunity to be scrutinized.

Obama may be educated and well spoken, but he has no experience as a leader of any size organization, let alone something as complex as a whole state employee base.

Hilarious!  You state that Obama is educated and well spoken - yet don't think he will be able to run something as complex as a state?  Dude, you're whacked!  How do you think Barack Obama has been able to achieve all that he has so far?  He's SUPER INTELLIGENT AND KNOWS HOW TO GET SUPPORT!  He's exceptional enough to circumvent the traditional ways of garnering support to run for President.  This should be applauded, not ridiculed.

Being an effective leader of a large, complex organization requires a specific skill set, just being "intelligent" isn't enough.  There are lots of very intelligent people who would make lousy executives.

By the way, the rest of the world is totally behind Barack.  I (along with most Americans) are ready to start being friends again.  I'm tired of all this "either your with us or with the terrorists" BS that's made us look like complete fools.

Truthfully, I don't like any of the candidates, so it comes down to ideology.  More often than not, no matter what the issue, government is the problem rather than the solution, and the larger the government gets in relation to the size of the total economy, the more freedom is diminished.  If a Libertarian candidate had a shot at winning, I'd vote for him.  Since that's not the case, I'll hold my nose and vote McCain as the lesser of the two evils.

I'm afraid ideology is completely lost in today's political environment.  The Govt under this current admin is the largest in the history of our country.  My candidate was Ron Paul.  Unfortunately, Ron knows that today's political climate would never give him a real chance.  Even if he did win somehow, he'd never be able to get rid of all the bureaucracy.  Ron made his run based on ideals, not a real shot - otherwise he'd be running as a 3rd party candidate.

However, with the current candidates, I would have to vote for Obama.  Barack gives us a fighting chance, at the very least.  If McCain gets in, the war machine will continue on.  We just can't keep engaging in these pointless wars.  McCain is a continuation of the Neo con agenda - and anyone in a right frame of mind just can't let these folks have a crack at it.

Ok, forget about foreign policy, let's talk economics.  If McCain had picked Romney, things might be much different.  Although a flip-flopper (who isn't?), Mitt is BRILLIANT and knows how to run a business.  The guy is a proven winner.  Unfortunately, the money was backing McCain and Mitt never had a chance.  In light of the Palin pick and McCain's age, I have to go with Barack.

Whether you want to talk about economics or foreign policy, the McCain/Palin ticket makes no sense.

Instead of continuing to tear down Barack, please enlighten us as to why McCain/Palin are a better choice.  Give me a reason to think they are worth thinking about for more than 2 seconds as anything other than a complete travesty.  You're basing your vote based off ideals that don't exist.  And you call me delusional!?  Come on my friend, it's not too late!  Just because your parents/family/friends voted for Republicans their entire lives doesn't mean you have to.  Let's be honest with ourselves and make an intelligent choice in this election.  The Neocon agenda has done enough damage to last the rest of our lives.  Let's give Barack a chance to show us what he can do.

Well in all honesty my side of the family are libs (but dont know shit about politics exept what they read in the tabloids) my friends I would have to say are mostly conservative but one of my best friends is a liberal and was best man at my wedding, my wifes family are very conservative and 2 of my wifes cousins and her husband work directly for McCain and the rest of the side are predominantly conservative.

This will actually help Palin tho, unless something seriously criminal is in the e-mail, sympathy will be with her on this kind of stunt.  It's even possible it was set up to do exactly that.
Wow a conspiracy theory connected to Amercian politics, I wouldn't beleive it ::)

Please define precisely how the district "failed", and what Obama's role was in this failure.

Hugo, please look to the facts.  The emails were to one of her friends/co-workers about their frustrations with the media.  This is not specific government business and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this.  The crime is hacking into her personal email.  This is a clear violation.  Anyone caught doing this needs swift punishment.  We cannot allow this to happen to anyone, particularly public officials.

I guess this is another reason why public officials should avoid emails.

It's funny how mccain is yelling about the need for justice with the broken law here -

Yet he is doing everything he can to stall the Troopergate investigation.

You're using the Chris Matthews argument from "Hardball" yesterday. But, that's not how it works. The Democrats don't automatically get a shot, just because of the problems that have occured during over the last few years.

Your argument seems to be based, NOT because you believe Obama is better, but simply because you think he can't be much worse. If that's the case, let me remind you that Pelosi and crew, like Obama, were promising "change" left and right.  They produced change alright, making things worse, hence the approval rating of the Democrat-controlled Congress' which is EVEN LOWER than that of President Bush.

It's Obama vs. McCain. Each man has to show why he belongs in the White House. Neither is entitled to it.

You forgot that the McCain campaign released the e-mails that support Palin's statement, that the commissioner who got canned did so, for insubordination regarding policies and other grievances that had NOTHING to do with her sister's ex-husband.

And, that guy himself even admitted that Gov. Palin NEVER ordered him to fire Wooten.

Pretty simple on this one folks , at this pt.
Apirl 23 , 2008 McCain was asked why he would be better than the 2 dems ( hillary and Obama) on the economy. He said;
" Anyone that wants to put more regulations on financial institutions does not know nmuch about the economy"
Sept 15 after the AIG metldown
" the fundamentals of this economy are still strong"

Based on his own words and policy on the economy McCain is a trainwreck

No dignity, no sense of moral values, no sense of ethics >:(

In the latest of a series of invasions into Sarah Palin’s personal life, hackers have broken into the Republican vice presidential candidate’s private e-mail account, and a widely read Web site has published screen grabs from it.

An article Wednesday in Gawker.com posts family photos and snapshots of e-mail exchanges the Alaska governor had with colleagues. Gawker says the-email account has since been shut down, but it will leave the images up on its site for all to see.

“Here are the screenshots of the emails saved before the account went dark, along with the contact list. It’s newsworthy and we will not be taking it down!” the site declares.

Rick Davis, campaign manager for John McCain, released a statement calling the publication a “shocking invasion of the governor’s privacy and a violation of law.”

“The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these e-mails will destroy them. We will have no further comment,” Davis said.

The article boasts about the lengths to which the reporter went to verify the account, saying he or she even called a phone number listed for Palin’s teenage daughter, Bristol, which apparently went to her voicemail. The site also listed dozens of contact e-mails from the account.

Both WIRED and Gawker reported that members claiming to be with a group known as Anonymous took credit for hacking into Palin’s account. Screen grabs were published on other Web sites and then deleted, Gawker reported.

They reportedly came from a Yahoo e-mail account Palin uses — one separate from another private account that was publicized in The Washington Post last week.

Gawker complained that Palin has since “deleted” the account, and suggested she was trying to “destroy evidence.”

Palin has faced scrutiny for using her private account to do government business. The Washington Post reported last week that a local Republican activist is trying to get Palin to release more than 1,100 e-mails she withheld from a public records request. The appeal reportedly questions why Palin and her aides shift between public and private e-mail accounts.

A spokeswoman in the governor’s office in Alaska declined to comment Wednesday, referring questions from FOXNews.com to the McCain-Palin campaign.

“Primarily we’re referring people to the campaign because honestly people wouldn’t be asking these questions if she wasn’t a candidate for [vice president],” spokeswoman Kate Morgan said.

The Palin family was subjected to intense scrutiny after she was selected as John McCain’s running mate on Aug. 29. Reporters descended on her home town of Wasilla, Alaska, as the media focused on her unwed teenage daughter’s pregnancy.

Cry about it. Probably had her password set as "sarah" or something stupid like that.
