So sad....I dated Steve in 1991 until 1992 - about 6 months. A very nice man and a bright friendly soul.
Condolences to family in Pearl River (met them just once) and to his wife.  My father just died of the same thing - a pulmonary embolism.  I hope he did not suffer.

LT interviewed Steve Stone after the 2007 USA's while I videotaped.  He will be missed by many that truly enjoyed his expertise and friendship over the years.
