585 bench for 23 reps, fake?
« on: October 08, 2008, 11:59:55 AM »
this has probably been posted but i couldnt find anything in search. this looks so fake, anyone know?

"Thanks for all the support and positive comments on my video. I'm gonna take the advice of my fans and compete in the world's strongest man next year. I contacted them and they said I would get a "special invitation". The guy who runs it hinted that I might be a little too strong and it would be unfair to the other competitors. So I just won't lift any weights for the next year to level the playing field. Thanks again. "

Yes I think it was some sort of joke display they had where anybody could try, probrably only like 185.

At least that's what was said on youtube after a guy showed a video of a bunch of people doing the same thing when the dude on the video kept saying it was legit.

100% fake.  I can't belive anyone for a second would think it's real.  That idiot also has his comments moderated on youtube and won't allow any that say it's fake.

Yes, that's the Arnold classic, the set was said to legitimately weigh in the mid 200lb. range.

That's weak, my cousins brother in law presses that for 56 and he doesn't even train seriously.

Fake as the day is long.   Just listen to the sound (or lack thereof) when the spotter racks the weight at the end.  Dead giveaway.

It was a set up at the Olympia expo.  The actual weight was 250. I saw it and lifted it myself.

Yes it was dipshit.  Ask Alex23, Nat wonder and Flexintonsteele, they were all there and I'm sure they saw also.
I asked the guy what it was for and he said just for fun.

Yeah, the guy in the video really looks like he could bench 250 for 23 easy reps with room for even more reps.  ::) ::) ::)
