I've eaten at Firehouse many times and it was never all that great... It wasn't bad, but certainly not some fantastic place... I think people more often go there because of the history, rather than because the food is so great... The food was average quality, and yes many items were bodybuilder friendly.

As you can see from many other Yelp reviews, this place is a mediocre stop in venice.  After an unsuccessful attempt to go to Venice Ale House on opening night (the kitchen closed before 9:30pm, WTF!!), we were starving and our paths crossed Firehouse.

In our group we had a pizza, chicken tenders, a hamburger and the spinach pancakes.  Everything was decent and edible, but the only thing worth writing about were the spinach pancakes.  They were tasty and had an interesting flavor.  If I were to ever return it would certainly be for the breakfast.  Prices ranged from $8-14.

The oddest thing was the random asian dishes and sushi on the menu, which after reading other Yelp reviews, I avoided like the plague.  If you go, get some pancakes and avoid everything else.

Yah, this place is odd. The food is mediocre and its like the dishes were thrown together with no congruence. It tasted okay but that's really all. I won't go back. I think they just make their business off of tourists and the fact that its a big red building on the corner.

the firehouse is nothing but a pile of shit, about 15 years ago it was ok, a plate of food gonna cost you around 30 bucks when all said and done, and the quality of food is pure crap...........rotten buffalo burgers, all kinds of shit, the place sux, and the owner needs to know how bad she fucked it up too.......the only ones who go there are bbers and people who just wanna run over to firehouse and eat........the place sux.

NEVER ONCE have I heard a thing about The Firehouse.  I can`t even name a chef that works there or has worked there.

This leads me to believe it is overrated crap.  Am I correct?  What is it like and what is on the menu?

30 bucks?  Hey, I agree the place is shit, but I have eaten there many times and never spent more than 12 dollars.
