Alcohol is to him what blow or speed might be to someone else. A true alcoholic can drink everyday and not only live a normal life, but in many cases do things better.

That's a ridiculous statement and if anything enables an alcoholic to continue their destructive path.

My old man drank himself to death at 37. He sure as hell didn't live a normal life nor did he do anything better via drinking.

I never understood how one can get addicted to booze. I feel absolutely miserable for days when I had too much. How does it work to get addicted? Serious question.

I just liked the taste of beer, and it became a nightly or daily routine.

Well, I could very well be wrong. I know about the effects of addictive drugs, no so much about alcohol addiction.

sorry to here about your old man. What was the actual cause of death?

I have decided to stop because of my liver enzymes, I would rather live to be old sober then die young drunk.

Never man, I never get hung over from drinking beer, not even after a 24. If I drink wine or spirits its a different story though.

Bad luck, I guess.

we used to hang out with this guy who was the opposite, this little dude could down one of those bottles of vodka with the little handle on the side with a little orange juice and be totally coherent but literally 2 beers would knock the dude on his ass, anyway good luck big guy.

you'll be allright man, a young dude like you with the self discipline to build a good physique and compete in MMA should have no problems, both of those things are way tougher than kicking alcohol, you'll be fine.

literally burned a hole in his intestines. By this point though he had dementia, failing liver, was broke and had severe diabetes all from drinking.

I was raised the same way. All the men in my family are dibetics. I was raised in a beer drinking family. If anyone doesn't know what that means? All day and all night. Cold, Cold, Cold!

It's all good. In matters of addiction and personal destruction I leave it up to that person to choose the path they want to walk. He knew the result.
