Positivism in general is illogical IMO.
I never had anything more than a nodding acquaintanceship with that particular school of thought... which is to say I really don't know jack shit.

But the notion that language controls your view of the world doesn't do it for me. So what if the eskimos have umpteen words for snow. I can still differentiate between wet snow, snow that you can't make a good snowball with, snow with big snowflakes, yellow snow, etc.
It seems to me you "think" before you "language" (even though they'd make fun of me for struggling to get my point across due to my linguistic limitations, aha! they'd say), and that the concept which will be put into words necessarily precedes those words, and is not therefore dependent upon the language which eventually frames it, so that language is the servant of cognition, not the other way around.
BTW, I have no idea if that has anything to do with NLP.
