The issue is the hundreds of thousands if not a few million of people in the USA that do not speak the english language (and refuse to learn), the language of the country they immigrated legally or otherwise to.
there are whole communities in California that don't speak english. the State government has to make concessions for this in schools and in the work place. In many schools half the class time is spent teaching the class in Spanish.
It's mostly spanish speaking people. Not other ethic group refuses to learn the language and or are catered to. Chinese, Russians, French etc.. Who move here learn the language.
Learning another language is great. But Obama suggested the responsibility was for english speaking people to learn spanish. That's ridiculous.
