The Bush victories where very narrow indeed. My point was that of the media being wrong about obama's popularity.

He's obviously a very popular candidate. Just take a look at his drawing power during the campaign. Criticize it all you want, but there probably isn't another politician that could draw tens of thousands to a campaign speech.

Most people vote along party lines and McCain came into the campaign with a LOT of political currency. Considering the unprecedented levels of paranoia ahe right tried to generate (and so many in this thread appear to have bought into),his victory  percentage is prety impressive.

R u retarded? he won by a large margin!  got close to 53% of the vote, won red states that have been red for 70 years ie IN.  He won big!  1-2% is a narrow win, 6% is a huge win.  Just think 10,000,000 more people picked Obama over mcbush.
Indiana is a huge win but 1964 was not 70 years ago ;)

Obama got a few hundred thousand more votes than Bush did 4 years ago and there are several million more people in American now than there were 4 years ago. I know that your small brain won't understand that but Obama certainly didn't get the massive approval the media was proclaiming he would. In fact he won only because of the hatred for Bush. He's a complete media creation.

And MattT, you are the probably the last person on this board who should call someone retarded.  Ever heard of the pot and the kettle?

This isn't a huge win by historic gauges, but it is a huge win for the divisive period we're in.

uhhhh.... lol.... starts falling apart?  Yea, lets blame him for Bush ::)

That Bush shit is has been played out, is that the only thing you can say bro, ya Bush was part of the problem
but their were others involed and if you look back or do your home work it started in the Clinton era.
Fannie May, Freddie Mac lets give equal housing to all people who should't have gotten a morgage in the first place, so they fixed it and lied about people's credit so they could get the morgage loans. So 10 years ago you only had to pay the interest on your loan, then 10 years later you had to pay the Sub Prime and the interest
loan of your morgage, and most people could't afford to pay it so they forclosed, so who do we blame the morgage companies, the people or both or since it happend when Bush was President we'll just blame him.
Like i said before you believe what you have heard from the obama side and it worked and you believed it.
Now the shit will hit the fan, watch all his bullshit will.

HUGO open your mind up and try not to be one sided, there were alot of things i did't like about or agree
on with Mc Cain bro.
Let me as you Hugo, if you were on the weight pile and rpped the fuck out of your shoulder and you had to have some major surgery on it, would you let someone opperate on it that never has opperated before??

obama is a yes-man/ robot/ puppet for the liberal machine. He does not think on his own or have any plans or ideas of his own. If he does he will only do them if his leaders tell him it's ok. He has always done what his party states and never challenges anything.
America always gets what it asks for, so here ya go. The fact of the matter is this country is greatly divided by this whole thing. Obama won by a narrow margin, 52%. Those that voted for him are in for a rude awakening.
While George Bush was not the best leader and has cost this country dearly in a few areas, to vote for "change" not knowing what that "change" is, is down right scary.  The Germans did the same thing with Hitler.
Too many people in this country want to be taken care of instead of being self sustained. Too many people in this country are lazy and, want others to do for them. Too many people in this country wish for us to be like Europe. Our forefathers left Europe for  good reason, to get as far away from governmant tyranny and, control as possible. To build a nation of independant free thinkings and builders. The people who built this country did so without all the whinning and crying that a lot of people do today. Our lives are very easy today. We have all the modern toys that 100 years ago would be un- emaginable. Yet people still say life is too hard.
I wish for an America filled with independant hardworking people who only ask for the opportunity to do so. Not ask for the rewards without the work. Not ask others to give to them because they are deemed to have enough or too much. When the government gets involved in business and regulates it, the profit goes down and, so does the motivation to do better. Those of you who wish for government control on health care.......it would only make it worse. Doctors are well educated smart hard working people who, will not stand for the government telling them how to do their work and regulate their pay. They instead will simply get out of the medicine field and, move onto something else. There will also be less people motivated to got to college for 9 years to be a doctor if the governmant is regulating medicine. The healthcare system is a mess right now, yet the government will only make it worse.
I really feel that obama is nothing more than a tool for socialists in this country whom have been trying to tear the fundamental core values of this country apart. I only hope people wake up before its too late.

WELL SAID BRO.  To the point, week people lay around and want to be takin care of, food stamps, well fair. They don't even pay taxes and their going to gt a refund from my had work under the O'Shit Bama plan, Fuc..That

During this economic crisis that America is in this is a big win.  Bush did not get over 300 elector votes in both 2000 and 2004.  Obama crushed mcbush with over 360 elector votes.  This is a big win get over it. ::)

2000
Bush/Cheney 271    Gore/Lieberman 267

2004
Bush/Cheney 286    Kerry/Edwards 252

Obamas win is very similar to Clintons 1992 win

Clinton/Gore 370    Bush/Quayle 168

Reagan/bush was a huge landslide, but those were different times back in the 80's.
1980
Reagan/Bush 489    Carter/Mondale 49

he won by more than Bush both times and in 2004 they called the margin a mandate ;)

Thats bcause for the first time Blacks got off their asses and voted. I wonder why?
Now the women can sit back and have 10 kids that they can't afford and have 10 different
fathers who can't pay child support and they will collect food stamps as they been doing for years
and get away with it, and that goes fo WHITE TRASH to. Not being racist it's just the way it is and
it's the truth weither you like it or not.
So what other Election did that many blacks come out to vote?? Never, so i can call that racist
and i'm a Black Man.

I think you're not too swift or just an antagonist as your almost your entire post is wrong. Black vote was up, so was youth vote and others. And yes, blacks have been voting in the tens of millions strong for years, and blacks have always voted mostly 90%+ dem anyway for years with nothing but white candidates ::)

Please try and do some maths, blacks are 12% of the population they can't carry an election the remaining 88% kinda kills that ::)

Palin was obviously put on the ticket to pander to women, which are 55% of the electorate - over 4 times the voting block then blacks. That failed I see.

Obama won the black vote, latino vote, jewish vote, all age groups under 65 vote, first time voters, higher educated voters, higher income, single women and more. He won across stacks of groups unlike McCain.

He simply won, and won well as did many other dems no matter how it's played. Blame Bush.

Good luck CQ with your knew President, i hope the change is for the best, but don't think so. And wha do you really know about obama? Not much i'm sure, just the word change is all you know. It's funny how they we'll all change things for the better just to get your vote, but when they get elected it's the same ole shit, so keep praying. It's about Ego, power and just being a sales man to you. If your smart then you should know that?

Great post my friend! I feel the same way. The only thing an obama supporter can say is "change". I'm sick of hearing that shit. My family came here from sweden in 1880's to leave a country that was becoming socialists as they still are. My grandfather fought the nazi's in wwII and barely came out alive, along with many others in my family who felt strongly for the american beliefs and freedoms that so many take for granted. Now, the things they fought and nearly gave their lives for may be the reality for our families and our children.
Obama is just an image as you said for the socialist party, much like hitler and lenin, they preach change and hope and next thing ya know ya got a dictator in control and a completely brainwashed country who let it happen. My prayers now are in the hopes that congress does not let his socialistic ideals pass with 2/3 majority. Except unfortunately I think they have more to gain than anyone, and I'm not convinced McCain didn't purposely throw the election cause he is in on it as well.

Another classic from Will Harris' toyboy. MattT, you fcuking guy, the reason it's considered a big win for Obama is not because of the popular vote margin but because Obama won so many states - he totally dominated the electoral college.

the buck stops somewhere now doesn't it... You're going to tell me Obama won't get blamed if we go from being in a big hole to great depression and hated even worse in the world?  Bush has a huge role for where we're at and you know it.  For you to say, oh, don't talk about Bush, it's old is BS... He's the one that launched the "temporary" deficit spending that didn't turn out so "temporary"  He's the one that decided to go it alone after 9/11.  We went from having everyone's sympathy and backing to telling everyone to fuck off, it's our way or no way.  All so we could have... Iraq???  brilliant...  Had this shit been done different, there would have been a lot more bad guys off the world block and a serious(not bought and bribed) coalition to do it...  Now Bush seemed to get his way with almost everything he really pushed for so to say it's everyone's fault as much as Bush is bullshit... A good president and one who gets his way like Bush would be able to identify problems and set an agenda around them.  He did not do that.  His agenda was cronnie capitalism and dreams of a new world order.  That worked out great for us ::)  neoconservatism=FAIL

Good grief. Now Obama is the new Hitler and a secret socialist propagandist who will overthrow the government from within. You motherfuckers have lost your  minds.

I feel like I"m repeating myself, but every reson you gyuys claim we should fear an Obama presidency manifested itself during the Bush presidency. He wa more of a socialist  than either of the democratic presidents that preceded him in the last 30 years. He used the 9/11 attacks to brainwash the public with ideas of patriotism for the sole purpose of furthering his own agenda. He used jingoism and war propaganda to attempt to establish a defacto dictatorship. He was completely incompetent and he nearly wrecked the country.

Literally , every single nightmare that you guys claim is coming under the Obama administration  has already come to pass under the Bush regime.

You need to take off your partisan blinders. Some of you claim that you aren't knee-jerk republicans, but the only ones you're fooling are yourselves.
