How Obama got elected
« on: November 17, 2008, 06:56:17 PM »
U want scary, check out that link. I will give u lib getbiggers some credit and say that u atleast had some idea what the hell u just voted for but these morons had no idea. Its a combination of being idiots, the media and who knows what, but these blind morons just helped the most ill prepared candidate in history, get elected. Actually he's taking the Clinton administration and kicking off the dust. The next 4 years ought to be alot of fun.

http://howobamagotelected.com/

Zogby Poll

512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points

97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates

Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions

57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)

81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)

82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)

88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)

56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).

And yet.....

Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes

Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter

And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!

Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.

Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)

Those are just lame right wing talking points, and the "simple" multiple choice questions are phrased in such a way to range from misleading to downright dishonest.

Obama never said  that his policies would bankrupt the coal industry and make energy prices skyrocket. His answer did include the word "bankrupt", but the rest is bunk. He said he wanted to institute measures that would wean the nation off of fossil fuel pollutants. He specifically referred to building NEW coal  powered factories.

The Biden plagiarism scandal is TWO decades old.

Obama did NOT launch his political campaign in Ayers' living room.

All of the questions about the democratic candidates are about  stuff unrelated to the campaign that happened up to 20 years ago.

All of the stuff about Sarah Palin happened within the last  three months and was directly related to this campaign.

Another HH6 straw man argument. (No offense Straw Man.)

mccains divorce was how long ago and how often did that get brought up?

yes yes palin had 150,000 in clothes bought by the GOP not her but yes its very campaign related  ::)

her daughter being pregnant also is directly campaign related how could i have missed that  ::)

So what you're saying is that stupid lib voters got Obama in this time, unlike the last time when stupid conservative voters got Bush in for a second term.

Here is what happened...this is truth. Personally I don't see how anyone can argue this all that much...be it a democrat or republican.

When it comes to registered voters, those that were registered before this election, the country is pretty evenly split between democrats and republicans. Sometimes conservatives who are right on the line will shift to the left a little, but there are not enough of those to win an election on the left.

The independents, they do make up a chunk of the registered voters, but even though they call themselves independent, most will typically always vote on one side...most always vote democrat, or republican....very few are evenly split. If they voted for Bush you can pretty much guess they voted for McCain, if they voted for Kerry, you can pretty much guess they voted for Obama.

Yes, the independents do affect the election in some way, but that's not what happened here. There is no way the independents who typically gravitate towards the right voted for a far left candidate...so what happened?

For the first time in American history, the "I don't know crap about anything" crowed registered to vote and voted for Obama. These were not the politically intelligent...the politically intelligent always vote. These were the moochers, the lazy, the reality TV supporting mass of cattle.

They voted for Obama, not base on policy, they have no clue what policy is...most of them have no clue how any thing on the hill affect them. They voted for Obama for at least one of these reasons or more:

1. He is better looking then McCain
2. He had celeb appeal
3. He made people feel warm and fuzzy
4. They were told by others that Obama would take care of all their problems...messiah, savior, god, whatever you want to call it.
5. He is black
6. He seems kind of cool
7. They were promised free money...although they have no idea how this works or where it will come from it sounds good to them.
8. If they didn't vote for Obama they wouldn't be cool any more
9. The media, especially MSNBC and almost every major news paper painted McCain to be an evil, heartless and greedy old man.
10. They were promised free money...already mentioned this one, but it's worth mentioning twice. These people will always jump on free money...most of them are too lazy to do anything that would actually earn them more money.

Those are the top 10 reasons Barack Obama will be the 44th president of the United States.

You completely missed the point.

Most peoples live, I'm talking about the majority of people, those who fall in the low middle class, there lives have not changed one bit with Bush in office or with a republican congress 6 of the last 8 years.

These people heard someone tell them they were going to do everything for them...basically told them they now had room to be even lazier...apparently this is possible, which is shocking news to me.

Most of these people will be pretty surprised when their lives don't change at all under Obama...actually they'll be pretty pissed off. but you know what? The anger will last about 42 seconds...most of these people have the attention span of a new born cat.

Then the next election will come, they'll be told that if the new guy who's running against Obama is elected they'll be in danger of losing money, of having to work harder. They will be promised more freebies, and will by then completely forgotten they never got one freebie in the last 4 years.

I'm not sure I would take it to your extreme - but I ask myself in these modern times is - why have government if it doesn't do anything for you? Sure there will be free loaders, but I'm not convinced that therefore the government should provide as few services as possible because someone might be getting more than their share.

No offence, but aren't the Clinton years generally considered to be some of the best in US history?

At least economically?
Running a surplus and and all.
So filling the cabinet with Clinton staff would be something most would be happy with?
Would it be better if Obama appointed a bunch of newbies with no experience?
Whether we like him or not, he's been making pretty smart decisions so far, even reaching out to McCain, really making an effort to win acceptance from even Republicans.

Even though it comes with conditions, I would prefer Clinton democrats be in the whitehouse....rather than some of the far lefties.
The fact that Hillary wasn't elected over Obama is still baffling.

Arnold jr, there's no doubt some people fall into the category you posted.  Its nice to see intelligent debate on both sides here but this election attracted a lot of people who know little about gov or politics.  Obama was a media celebrity that many people were drawn to.

100% false.

With the run-up of gas prices, the cost of groceries had to increase as well.  Over time, with less and less money left at the end of each month, people's lives got a lot tougher...even those folks who did a reasonable job maintaining a household budget.

Most people WERE affected by the dramatic increase in the cost of a lb of butter.  That's just reality.

Sure, we still go to our kids' soccer games, but Keri and Tom just moved into a rental because they could no longer afford their house payment.  Jessica isn't in my kid's class anymore because they, too, had to 'move away'.

Thankfully, the cost of a gallon of diesel fuel has come back down, but grocery costs are still high.  Hopefully they'll be stabilized for a while to allow our incomes to catch up.

Now, though, you have to take into account what's going on with the Big 3 and when faced with those realities, conventional wisdom says the worst is still yet to come.

On that note, the mismanagement of GM is NOT Bush's fault.

Clinton's first 2 years were pretty bad...border line disastrous. It was the balance budget act that he signed that was the big touchdown for Clinton.

Does anyone remember who drew that bill up? Gingrich...did Clinton want to sign it? No of course not, it took a lot of ass kicking to get it through but it worked, it helped the economy out more then anything in history and now Clinton can take the credit.

The best of times were produced with a GOP congress and Clinton as President.
