Demonizing food puts the novice in the WRONG frame of mind.
Again, Mcdonalds is not "junk food". There is no such thing as "junk Food".
No, Adam. You're a smart guy and I know you can comprehend this. McDonalds is generally JUNK FOOD. Junk food >>>DOES<<< exist. Pre packaged meals that don't fit ANYONE's nutritional requirements is JUNK FOOD lol
Who needs grams of trans fat and thousands of mg of sodium in one sitting? I'm not for all the fear mongering by any means, thinking a little sodium will kill me, etc... but that isn't exceptionally conducive to one's health if eaten on a regular occasion. If it's eaten from time to time, it's not a detriment. But all the time... no. I would classify that as JUNK FOOD.
You can eat rice and grains all the time and it wouldn't be bad for you. If you eat lean cuts of meat and fish all the time, as long as you don't have an inflammatory illness it would be fine as well. If you eat veggies all the time, it will be fine. As long as a grossly obscene amount of these foods aren't eaten, you'll generally be fine. If you eat more than a moderate amount of McDicks, it WILL be a detriment to your health.
I honestly eat McDicks from time to time. Usually after a workout for the calories and quick fix. I otherwise love cooking nice ass meals and prepping extra for later in the day or the next morning. I don't fear that I'm going to die from it because I'm not living off it as a staple, like most fat asses can tend to do.
I am very lean too. I know it can be done but again, lets not tell everyone that there's no such thing as junk food. A can of pop is horrible, horrible junk food. It's liquid calories. Something that'll spike the glycemic index and probably create free radicals from all the shit that's in it. You can't tell me that a normal, sedentary person can drink pop all day long and become healthy from it. It is probably one of the mitigating factors for the world epidemic that is FATNESS. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease and other directly related degenerative conditions can all be prevented simply from not being delusion about food. You can't selectively agree with studies, Adam. You sputter how we need so little protein above the RDA, then say Ben and Jerry's isn't bad. Jesus Christ... you can't have it both ways. Everything in moderation. For those who are morbidly obese, no fun junk foods PERIOD. They've revoked their right to eating junk. End of story.
