Fool!  He needs to establish himself at the 2nd biggest show.  Yeah...he is responding to gear like crazy but he doesnt look mature (muscles) against established guys and his width/balance is wacked at the moment.  He couldnt hold the title in 10 if they gave it to him in 09.  Sad day if this guy wins next yr.  Win the A 1st than talk about the O.
Oh...Monica!

oh brother, another newcomer who needs to take 2 years off to "get ready", he should do the show, he'd have a great chance of winning it.

He better cash in while the hype machine is churning.

can't understand why he wouldn't do it, Victor and Dexter probably won't do it so it's an almost gauranteed 110K in his pocket. ::)

Dexter and Wolf aren't competing there. Heath would finish second at worst, picking up a nice sized check.

He's getting bad advice or he's just too lazy to diet twice in a year.

the only other person i could see giving him a challenge is Victor and i don't think he's doing it, if Heath shows up looking anywhere near what he did at the Olympia it would be an easy win.

I agree.  Victor is supposedly in.  He's the only one who could possibly beat Heath and that's only if his knee is back to 100%.

Beating Victor Martinez would be extremely difficult for Phil.

So you're saying he can win it next year? His goal is to win the O. Would doing the Arnold help him do that?

His chances at winning the Arnold (this year) are really good since the top pros are sitting it out.

His chances of winning the O are about none unless he finds a way to grow his clavicle, he'll never win.

smart move, if he really believes in his Olympia ability, a full year of training just for one show gives him a chance at the O, no doubt improve that back width and thickness and its his. Martinez is slipping, he will struggle to make the top 3 next year if Heath and Wolfe improve, both Martinez and Dexter are close to their finished product,  Martinez infact post injuries it will be hard for him to get back to his best which still wont be good enough. its whether the young lions can improve quick enough, no doubt their bodies are still some time off being the finished product, 12 months is a long time for these guys.

How is Martinez slipping when he hasn't competed since 2007....when he should have beaten Jay at the Olympia?  Let's not write the man off just yet...he's looking damn good at all of his guest posings recently.

His legs are no where near as good as previously, he was close to the finished product before the injury meaning his age and time in the sport to improve, is getting close to 100 percent of his potential where guys like Wolfe and Heath are at 60 to 70 percent, the test for them is to improve whilst maintaining their waistlines. Dexter is in the same boat but hes more complete, Martinez will never win the Olympia with bright red  oil filled  calves, Ronnie put a lot of shit there and his looked odd but Vic's looked ridiculous, he was better than Jay that day no doubt, but his calves cost him, he needs to do a dexter and stop shooting them, but i see Vic doing a Leverone from now on and just being up there, these top guys really struggle to improve after injuries stop their momentum.

You actually think Phil Heath is all hype?  I don't know about that. The guy is young and should have plenty of good years ahead of him.  Just look at the development seen in Ronnie Coleman over the years. If Phil Heath sticks to his guns, continues to learn and grow and listens to his body, there is no telling what he could achieve.  IMHO.
