In the gym strongman training...
« on: November 27, 2008, 09:33:35 AM »
I thought some of you would be interested in this.  The trainee is Tom Mutaffis, one of our strongman competitors.  He uses some interesting "complexes" as he calls them in his gym training.  I think these would be of interest to anyone looking for increased size, strength, and muscular endurance.  A nice change from the typical routine:

The deadlifting was very interesting.  Pulling off the step was impressive.

Of course not nearly as strong, but here is one of my LaCrosse players doing an in season circuit. 9 exercises, little if no rest between stations, 3-4 rounds. Last night I took a video of this kid (16 years old) doing a 46" box jump. I'll upload in a couple of hours.

This routine I designed to help keep offseason strength, muscular endurance and conditioning. I have several versions of similar routines.

that is pretty impressive, i especially liked the push presses.  is there a reason he is using only 215lbs on the rows, seems like not too much considering the weight he is handling on the other exercises.

Why don't you get a video of real athletes being trained like Rampage? No one wants to see some 16 year old twink lifting small girly weights.

Rampage is in England with Bisping right now, the bald dude in the blue shorts is Dave Roberts ( contender in Ultimate fighter 7) Rampages best friend and sparring partner, the black kid is Josh Gaskins (7-1-0), who Rampage and myself is helping to sponser, the mexican dude, is their boxing coach. Josh and the boxing trainer are flipping together because Josh just had meniscus surgery a couple of months ago.

By the way, that "twink" as you call him is getting scholorship offers from every major university on the east coast for Lacrosse including Duke.

Haha, "Lacrosse" that game was designed for girls right? Epic waste of time.

Why do I have a feeling that kid would lay you out on a field before you even blink?
