I know that being into bodybuilding one tend to second guess everything so it could be hard from a pure psychological standpoint to commit to something other than what bodybuilding mainstream preaches, with meat, supplements and steroids. But I would not let that be a first priority, bodybuilding needs to come after you figure out how to do things the way you feel good about it not the other way around. It's a maturity process, hopefully you keep evolving throughout life.

I remember when I was young the Lao side of my family would go out to a farm during 4th of July and buy a whole cow for about 500 bucks.  They would kill it on the spot and then take it back home where literally 20 Lao ladies would spend all day butchering it up.  They wasted nothing on that baby.
