as far as metal goes, in the 70's-Black Sabbath, 80's-Slayer, 90's-Pantera, 00's-gotta say Lamb of God or Slipknot. (I'm not a huge Slipknot fan though.)

Bunch of whiney bitches in the 90s. "Waaaa, my father didn't love me." Oh, shut up!

Now, the 70s rocked. Danny Joe Brown would've physically kicked any 90s vocalists' ass.

dude, i am not taking away from 60's-80s at all. im a huge fan myself of all types of music. But, rock in 70's was diff than in 80's. 80's was different than 90's. 90's diff than 2000's. etc etc.

I should have been more specific and said "hard rock".

I dont think joe brown would have kicked danzigs ass:) hope this helps

The 90's had some great music:

U2 put out some crazy, fan alienating work that stands the test of time (compare achtung baby and zooropa to anything muse, coldplay, and radiohead have ever put out)

Nirvana did some great stuff (even though i never cared for it, i acknowledge their imprtance)

Pearl Jam put out some amazing work

Soundgarden put out some amazing work

STP put out some amazing work

Oasis put out two of the most complete records of all time

Bob Dylan released one of his best records in 1997's Time Outta Mind

Dave Matthews Band, band with no electric guitar, was selling out stadiums and putting out number 1 albums and songs.

Rap was ACTUALLY GOOD, with acts like Dr. Dre, snoop, and biggie actually putting out music that meant something, as opposed to the pro black trash music that comes out today.  90's was a rebellion for rap, 00's are all about bitches, hoes, and having your own energy drink.

The indie scene also got cred in the 90's.  Because the digital revolution was occuring, everything started to get cheap in a hurry, and we saw a flurry of output from various genres and artists.  The 90's were a complete backlash to the horrible hair metal music of the 80's that dominated the pop scene.

I'm pretty much agree with Traps, early 90's rap was great 90's rock was VERY, VERY solid..

But i just can' think you can compare it to the 60's and 70's, so many song writers of that era were just genius.

However the 90's does trump the 50's 80's and aughts (00's) by a very large margin, so overall it was a good era for rock music, no doubt.

How the hell are gonna name either of those bands in with Black Sabbath, Slayer and Pantera? That's just plain wrong.

This is the metal of this decade:
