Not saying Obama isn't clean in this, I'm saying that Obama had "tainted" ties that were actually indited yet the press didn't want to address that, yet Reid rejects the appointment just because he thinks the appointee is tainted. The appointee, is more qualified than Obama.

What so wrong with trying to get rid of someone in their party(Blagojevich) who's a crook that tried to sell off the senate seat?

That's what I cannot understand.

If the Democrats would not have gone after Blagojevich, I would have expected and supported Limbaugh bashing the Democrats.

But when they actually clean their dirty laundry? Why is that a problem?

True.

But he thinks Blagojevitch needs to go.

Do you agree with Reid or do you think Blagojevitch can stay in power despite trying to sell the senate seat?

There is a process to follow set out bu the IL constitution.  That is what should be followed.

The whole think stinks.  This guy not only nominated someone after being arrested for trying to sell the seat, he picked someone who donated to his campaign.  There has to be something they (Illinois or U.S. Senate) can do.

The IL Senate could impeach Blago and have the Lt. Gov. appoint someone.  They did not do it and Blago is still the legally elected Gov..  He has not been indicted or convicted of anything and has the legal authority to appoint a Senator.

Perhaps.  But we're also talking common sense and the "spirit" of the law.  I don't think a government official who has been arrested for trying to sell a seat should appoint someone to that seat with a cloud hanging over his head, least of all someone who contributed to this campaign.  This guy is a crook.

Blagojevich is getting closer to impeachment.

So I take it that you support Blagojevich as a Governor as long as he's not convicted of anything?

I support a food fight amongst the democrats to see who is the most corrupt of the bunch.  Seeing Reid, Blago, et al, its a tough fight.

I wouldn't necessarily call him corrupt.  Moron, but not corrupt.

I don't know.

Seems like some people thinks he's "Mister Clean" and a few think he's dirty as hell.

I know too little about him to be a good judge to be honest.

Are you sure about this one?

I did read about it.

I can't say I'm convinced either way. Because some sources says he's innocent and that he's actually someone who was cleaning up in Las Vegas. Then some others says he just got off because he was connected pretty much.

So I wonder if you really are sure about this one?

No one gets to his position without being connected to the "right people."

The same way Obama is not clean as snow either.

HERE'S WHAT IT'S REALLY ALL ABOUT

(If given the job) - the Repubs think Burris will run again in 2010, in the next election.  He'll lose (he's lost 5 straight primaries) as the state is close and he's a bumbling buffoon of a candidate, let's be honest.

The Dems want someone marginally competent in the job, without a big shitstain on  his reputation.  Imagine the ads that WILL be running in one year, if Burress is approved .  "Burress was appointed by a scandaled man, and his own party didn't want him".

A Buress 2010 Senate run is a wet dream for repubs.  THIS is why Rush is so critical of Dems for bouncing this joker.  Of COURSE you'd want your rival party filling a seat for 1 year with a stained clod who can't win an election.

At least 90% are.

I base that on my personally tying to get involved in the NYS Young Republicans years ago.  I left because the corruption is so bad, on both sides, that any decent person either leaves or becomes corrupt.

I base it on how the campaign finance system allows politicians to use campaign funds for personal usage.

Just look at Charlie Rangle - where to begin with that one?

He is just the tip of the ice berg.

Blago needs to be indited and impeached ASAP.  Buress needs to be put through because it sounds like his appointment was legal, the dems are right to be upset about the nomination because it looks bad comming from Blago, and 240 has a good point on the repub side.

Regardless, Blago is the legal governor.  The Burress appointment was 100% legal and should go through.

AHHAHAHA at the whining over losing the past election and unable to get a beatable candidate in the seat in hopes of beating 2010.

Pure hypocrisy.
