But, until you do something or take chances like I do instead of just flapping your lips, you have NO idea what it takes or what to do. So I'm ready for the kids to start ragging. So you are saying 48,000 sq,. ft won't do well.

You'll have to compete with the 5 other Gold's Gyms in Las Vegas so I honestly don't think you can round up enough business. This is not counting the independent gyms as well.

You are right, the economy is too horrible at this time but I would have picked an area that did not have that much competition

Its a place for real lifters. While it will have some pretty Spartan equipment, it will be clean and properly maintained and it won't be like the Metroflex.

Noting personal against Dobson, while I think that they have a great gym...I don't think the sight of someone chopping up hog meat on the counter while you work out or a clump of hair nailed to the wall from some dancer that got his ass kicked is cool to have around.

It will be hardcore but will also be a professional training facility. No fucking Ace of Base or Sheena Easton playing through the speakers. Nothing but heavy metal.

The Golds here suck in membership and rank third in my competition list. The ones I have to worry about are Las vegas Athletic Club and 24 Hour. There is a reason why there are so many gyms here it is because there is a need for them. LVAC just opened a new 85,000 sq ft gym and it easily has over 8,000 members already. The Eastern location gets 6,000 people a day through their doors. This is one city where gyms are needed. In fact Las Vegas gyms have grown more than any other city in the country. So there is plenty of room for gyms here. And with the people I have associated with my gym who themselves believe the market is perfect here kind of supports my business plan. Now I just need the economy to get better and it will. And my investor isn't that concerned about the economy more than he is concerned about opening his business first which is 15 months late opening because the city took that long to get him his COA. Once he has that up and running I'll be fine. And the building I am looking at is still available no problem.

No not yet. Why? Considering I have over 25 years in the gym business and national and world title and trained with many many many many many more people than you have, why would you ask. Kieth, how much is the economy impacting on gym memberships? Are other gyms seeing a drop off? Are you able to offer people an attractive/cheap deal that could steal them away from existing gyms, even if it's only for 3 or 6 months? If so, this would be an ideal time to open. Or is it a high end place that costs more than the others?

What I am going to offer and make available at the price point I have I want to be right next to the two biggest clubs. It will be priced just right. This whole process is testing my patience big time but i am staying busy and going t the gym now so it is okay.
