I wonder what the real story is.

Somehow I find it hard to believe that he just now realized that they had different views on key issues.

maybe he got an insiders look at the books and decided we're fucked. Then again, he probably voted lockstep the the Repubs the last 8 years so he and all his fellow Repubs are part of the problem anyway (IMO)

tomorrow there will be 2 headlines:

Senator Gregg "stands up" to Obama, and suddenly becomes a 2012 frontrunner

Oh yes, and some bill got passed. Trillion bucks or something, who knows.

I know Crist, Arnold, and Palin have been taking turns giving him handjobs for this federal money. I know Steele is suddenly on a one-man negativity machine in the vein of Rove.

pressure from the party. The last thing they want is Obama with any bipartisan appearance. There are probably several reasons the GOP wouldn't want this.
