Don't try to pussy foot around it. You said you had a "bad feeling" about yesterday specifically. More failed conspiracy theory bullshit from you. Why try to back pedal now?  ???

All of you were ranting about how that clown was 100% accurate in his predictions. You all even woke up Monday morning talking about how you had "bad feelings" and that it was surely the day the dollar would collapse. Two days later and a mere 381 point dip in the Dow and it's still kicking. Conspiracy theory loses AGAIN.

idiot ::)  am I the one that brought all the vids saying doom was coming this week?  There is nothing wrong with this thread or the words I used here.  The only thing wrong is your lame attempt to get a meltdown out of me.  embarrased after your pathetic crybaby fail?  You kind of p'wned yourself with that, don't blame me.

Hey the fed just printed a couple trillion dollars hot off the press.   It should be circulating soon!!      Once this flood of money starts circulating then our dollar will be worth less than the paper its on.     This will catch up and grab us by the neck.

You think china wants to buy some more money from us??  Just lost billions?.......you bet your ass theyll start looking for somewhere else to invest.   You think they cant afford to lose us as a consumption society??   Wisen up....we arent buying lately and they know it.

bump, found the thread 3333.

Ha ha.  Good find.  Actually, I am glad I sured up a lot of stuff last winter.  A few more items and I am good to go for at least a month or two.

I agree with war horse in the post.  The govt bought more time, but basically put off a larger collapse.  However, I heard a good clip on DU ironically that the govt basically transferred the majorproblems from the banks' balance sheets to the taxpayers balance sheet with what they did.

Sadly, in reading the book I told you about, this has all been planned and done before, now we are in for a soverign debt crisis instead.

So who is preparing or prepared for the total collapse?

Looks like a lot of people saying it’s all going to fall apart.  Just in case, are you stocking up, if so what?  For how many months?  Generator?  Fuel? Food? Water?  What and how much, do tell.

The problem with Americans or this thinking is that it is inevitable, and cannot be prevented. Americans tend to take a ball-less, non-proactive stance to lifestyle, America and life in general. Sad, that were a country that prides itself from driving away the Brits, being proactive in our endeavor, going to the moon, civil rights, etc. Now on the celebration of MLK, we sit here waiting for others to stand up for us. Waiting foe things to fall apart, just waiting. Malcolm X in a scathing speeach about the Sit-INS had said, "a old woman can sit..." that is what has happened to the American spirit, it's akin to a old woman sitting. Any body can sitvand wait. But Americans are too scared to be leaders, rather be the sheep that they have been conditioned to be.

Funny how we can get on the phone and yell and curse until our cable gets cut back on. Or we can complain to the Electric company when there is a power outage, but when it comes to America going downhill, we say nothing, but blame everybody else but ourselves, like a fat person who doesn't blame their own lack of self control and poor eating habits for their weight gain.

I disagree.  First, there needs to be an actual valid threat of total collapse.  I can remember in '98-99 being told that 2000 was the end.  Then in 2000 I was told that it wasn't the "real" millennium, so 2001 was the end.  Then when the whole Florida recount shit went down, that was supposed to be the end.  More recently the signing of Copenhagen was supposed to be the end.  In the middle of this current year, a prominent Russian economist is predicting this will be the end of the United States.

IT'S FUCKING OLD ALREADY.  Are we supposed to rise up everytime someone cries it's the end?  Gimme a break...

As for this country going "downhill", I think you would probably find a lot of people will agree with you.  What I don't think you'll find is a lot of people agreeing on why it's going downhill or what the correct remedies should be.

Fear of leadership isn't the issue, IMO.  Knowing which direction to lead the country in, especially a divisive melting pot such as this one, is the real challenge.

It may have taken a little longer than expected but it seems america and the world sits on this precipice as we speak...

If people have been preparing for what is now considered the inevitable... does it seem like you have prepared enough? have enough food? have enough survival skills? have thought about living without electricity, water, sanitation etc? It may seem odd, but an economic collapse bring all of these things and more...and since no one has really been around to experience these things since the last depression...how does one cope???
