Supplement time - hook a schmoe up

The workouts and nutrition have been going well.  I look and feel much better than I did when I started this transformation a few months back when I tipped the scales at a frightening and disgusting 226 lbs. 

I weighed in last Thursday at 205.

My goal is to reach 192 in time for the Arnold, but like every other GetBigger, I can't afford to sacrifice too much muscle in the process...primarily because I don't really have any to lose. 

Right now, I'm getting all my nutrients from food and the only thing I'm taking is a protein supplement from Nature's Best.

What I feel my body needs is something to give me a little 'boost' when I go to train.  I'm open to other suggestions as well, but I think that's what I want most right now.  Any product ideas to provide what I'm looking for?

I used some ephedrine before cardio today, first time in like a year,
Almsot killed myself when I tried to piss afterwards lol!

tre if you just want to look lean and athletic  then do a bunch of high initensity cardio..

on a  bodybuidling site your going to hear bodybuilding tips... slow paced cardio... carb cycling... etc...but if you just wanna be fit and "sexy" then dont worry about that stuff man...

eat 3 or 4 or 5 meals a day (whatever), get in a big piece of meat at each meal with a bunch of veggies.... real simple stuff man...then do a bunch of wind sprints, go running, tabata in the morning, hit the gym twice a day...

Thanks, Tbombz.  I was reading some of your stuff earlier on a different subject and was about to make the comment that 'there's the man most of us should be listening to', so I really appreciate your advice here.

I can't believe I'd never heard of Tabata before your mention, but just did some reading and I'm fascinated, so I will definitely give that a shot this evening.  I think the toughest part of that type of workout will be to push myself to maintain the highest intensity the whole time since I train alone when I don't have any models visiting.

Right now, my main protein sources are egg whites, chicken, salmon, and packaged tuna in addition to the powdered stuff.  I'm eating at least 100-120g/day of protein and drinking about 75-100g/day.  I'm not measuring my carbs at all, but recently dialed back to 1/2 cup of oatmeal in the morning from a full cup and noticed a significant drop in my energy levels.  I may need to bump that back up a little.  I'm eating a TON of spinach, but not enough other veggies right now.  I need to do a lot better on this. 

I'm snacking quite a bit, I think, but limit it to a handful or two of trail mix and maybe a cup of raw almonds throughout the day.  Looking at the past couple of weeks, the almonds (and peanuts) have been my main fat source, so I may need to increase that a little.

Oh, another thing I'm trying right now is to take a little more sodium than normal  in order to help me increase my water intake.  My thinking is that I'll go low sodium in the final week and use the last few days before the weigh-in to dry out.  Is this a strategy that could work?

I'm 5-10...my previous high was 232, but looked my best at 190.

My former spouse, who is not black, *loves* salt and insists on adding crazy amounts to everything.  After many meals, I didn't feel 'quite right', but now I'm mainly concerned for our daughter, who lives mainly with her mom.

I have an opponent in this weight-loss competition (the really unfair is that I have to drop my last 13, while she's merely dumping her first 15), so diuretics are part of our 'anything goes' rules.  I would love to be able to squeeze out 5-6 lbs of water in those final days, but I'm not relying on that.  I think a more reasonable estimate is 2-3 lbs, given that it's been a LONG time (13-14 years) since I did any really tough dieting and my body is totally different now.

Veggie pills??  Does anyone have any safe recommendations on that?
